Sunny Day...........PPA57......

Pear Pizzazz, Daffodil Delight, Poppy Parade and Sunny Garden Designer Paper! How can you not love these beautiful colors?  Combine them with Margaret Moody's sketch this week at Pals Paper Arts and get instant sunshine!  After an unbelievably rainy week here in the northeast I needed to make a card like this.  Rain?  What rain?

PPA Simplified...........

Focusing in on a smaller area of an inspiration photo can make the task at hand less daunting - and we could all use a little less daunt!  Pals Paper Arts offered a snippet of their large inspiration photo today as a possible starting point for their challenge.  I decided to play again and chose the bird as my focal point this time.  I embossed it in gold, layered it on Sweet and Sour DSP and tied it all up with a chubby satin bow.  The layout from this week's sketch challenge at Paper Players made putting it all together a snap!  So whether you focus on the bird or flowers or colors, we'd love to see what you come up with!  So head over to PPA and play - a little less daunt means a lot more action!

Inspiration and then some...........PPA56....

Inspiration abounds this week at Pals Paper Arts!  The redesigned look is fabulous and the inspiration photo is just gorgeous!  Accessories like these definitely are too pretty to be hidden in a closet!  I drew my design and colors from the beautiful high-heeled shoe and draped fabric.  I used Sahara Sand, Pear Pizzazz and Pretty in Pink along with the stamp set Just Believe.  And if I took a picture of all of the accessories on the floor of my closet we would definitely have a whole 'nother type of challenge...............

A Little Birdie Told Me......PPA55.....

When I went to play at PPA this week, a little birdie told me there's something wonderful happening at Pals Paper Arts!  There's excitement in the air and talk of a new look.  I was trying to follow the sketch challenge from OCC using PPA's challenge colors but I found it almost impossible to concentrate.  Those darn birds wouldn't stop twittering the news!  So we might as well join in...........tell your friends.........check out Pals Paper Arts next Thursday.......you'll like what you see!

Lucky...........PPA54.....

Pals Paper Arts challenge this week was to make a simple masculine card.  Lucky for me I happen to need one this week for our anniversary. My husband loves his Harley so I stamped one in black and put a second one beside "his" - oh so symbolic!  Then I noticed that sentiment from Afterthoughts and put a tiny lucky me tag in the corner.  And I confess I stamped the much larger Lucky You on the inside..........

Barely Vintage.........

My husband is the most vintage thing around here - followed by me!  I love how people decorate or create in the vintage style but when I try to do it, it just doesn't work.  My Pal Ann Schach is the guest designer this month at Always Playing With Paper and this week's challenge is to create a vintage card.  Ann is an absolute master of vintage creations.  I told her I would try to step outside of my clean and simple box just for her.  I think I have created a new style - CAS vintage.  I tried tearing edges - too messy - used the deckle scissors.  I tried sponging edges - too messy - cut them off.  I speckled the background of my stamped image and it almost gave me a heart attack - had to do it over cleanly.  But I do love the Lap of Luxury DSP and the vintage brad!  This will go to friend of mine who just retired - she is like the card - just barely vintage..................
