Sending Love.....FMS305

My mother's cousin recently had surgery so I will be bringing this card to my mother tomorrow for her to sign before I mail it.  It is difficult to take her out these days but we did get her to Emma's birthday party last weekend.  Her short term memory is very poor and she struggles to follow conversation when there is a large group of people.  But she seemed to enjoy herself and liked watching the kids play in the bounce house.

When I brought her home and was getting her settled she noticed the invitation to Emma's party on her nightstand and asked me when the party was.  I told her we had just returned from the party. She shook her head a bit sadly and then looked at me with a grin and said,  "Well did I have a good time?"  I nodded and she said, "That's all that matters!" She hasn't lost that spunk!

Amy, my artisan friend from Texas, designed a sweet sketch for us this week at Freshly Made Sketches! It is perfect to show off a bold sentiment!  Join us!

  4. Aw, a sad but touching story! Emma looks like she had a boss party though! You have me re-thinking this stamp set...I thought it was too big but I love the bold message with the bright flowers. (Sigh), another one for my wish list!

  6. Such a difficult thing, this aging. I'm glad she has a little humor and acceptance but I know it has to be hard. I'm sure that watching the kids is a wonderful "in the moment" thing, at least. Beautiful work on the card, Linda.

  10. Love the bold colors against the "white" space... and the bold sentiment just POPS off the page at you. Nice.
Sorry your mom is now experiencing memory loss. My mom had dementia the last 10 years of her sweet life. You mom sounds as sweet as my mom was... but still so sad. HUGS

  11. It's poignant and yet amazing that your Mom has got that sense of humor, still. I'm sure that it must be difficult to see. Your card is beautiful. It's a great interpretation of the sketch.
