When I learned that the amazing Julee Tilman was going to be PPA's Celebrity Guest Artist, I headed to the archives of Poetic Artistry to trace the roots of Mojo Monday. Mojo Monday made its official debut Sept. 3, 2007 but I discovered that the seeds for Mojo Monday were actually planted earlier that year. Julee held various card contests often based on her sketches. Using PPA's Challenge Colors, I created this retro look card following one of her pre-mojo sketches. A sentiment from Word Play fits perfectly - Julee did Wish Big to become successful. Well maybe it took more than wishing...........lots of hard work, creative artistry and verve!
I knew your card would be fabulous! You never fail to "wow" us!
ReplyDeleteWonderful that you incorporated Julee's sketch. This card is simple and clean. The layered sentiment is very striking. Hugs, M
ReplyDeleteWhat a great sketch and love the color block effect--I am always inspired by a visit to your blog! I love that scalloped ring around the sentiment too. FAB!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beauty!!! I love how you incorporated the colors. A true gem. Hugs,
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card! Nice work.
ReplyDeleteWow Linda, this is just stunning. I love how you used Julie's earlier sketch for the challenge. The negative cut out of the scallop circle is also just brilliant. Fabulous card!
ReplyDeleteFabulous tribute to Julee :) Love how you used her sketch and the colours. Hope to get some time to play along this week.
ReplyDeleteOh my, that's a blast from the past! :) Such a beautiful card! Love the designer paper peeking through from behind the scallops and the pop of white border!
ReplyDeleteWow Linda, your card is so beautiful! I love all the colors you used! And the center circle is amazing!
ReplyDeleteThis is SO cute!!! Love how the colored paper comes through the scallop circle...so clever! Nice job with the color challenge :)
ReplyDeleteAWEsome, Linda! What a fun card.
ReplyDeleteYour pre-Mojo choice of sketches works perfectly with the stamp you used and the trio of buttons are so cute in the corner all by themselves! Now if I can only figure out how you made the scallop circle and the little peek it allows us to see!
ReplyDeleteAll of the little details make this card grand - the buttons, the decorative scallop border, the pear pizzazz ribbon and of course, the scallop circle! The regal rose and pear pizzazz paper really pop off of the early espresso base. Love it!
ReplyDeleteJust so clean and simple!!! The colors just really pop!!!
ReplyDeleteLinda, your card is gorgeous! I love the sketch that you used from one of the pre-mojo sketches. I have no idea how you made your circle see through but I love it.
