S'UP? FMS147

This sketch is just plain fun!  I loved seeing all of the design team interpretations this week. Every one is so unique - and so terrific! That's also what I love about seeing all of the cards in the gallery - everyone's personal style shines through!  And someone I know visited a boutique this weekend and was doing some stylin' herself......

Happy Birthday LeAnne!

There is a blog hop going on at Merry Monday to celebrate a milestone birthday for designer extraordinaire LeAnne Pugliese!  If you have never visited Wee Inklings......go now!  She creates fabulous cards and also happens to be a fabulous person!  We recently hung out together at Convention and had a grand time.  So cheers LeAnne - hope your birthday was terrific my friend!

I used the Sketch 25 at Seize the Sketch and the Birthday Awareness Set along with Flowerpot DSP to create LeAnne's card today.

A Baker's Dozen - Convention Swaps

The number of amazing cards you see at Stampin' Up! gatherings is mind boggling.  With swaps, display boards, classes and demonstrations there is eye candy everywhere!  I thought I would share some of the swaps I brought home - they are awesome!

The first group of five are from the gals I stayed with at The Monaco. We had a great time together in Salt Lake City!

My South Carolina partner in crime and fabulous roommate Dawn Tidd used the USA map beautifully by marking where we all traveled from!

Charline Lovell - who is so sassy and such fun -  made a delightful stack of animals for this baby card!

How about this beauty from sweet Sandy Ingbretson?

And that LeAnne Pugliese is as delightful as her confection!

This elegant creation is from Nancy Lempinen who happens to be Nance Leedy's oh so chic mom!

The fabulous Nance Leedy created this gorgeous burst of birthday greetings - and kept me entertained and on track throughout Convention!

The next group of cards are from fellow Pals under Mary Fish.

Pam Morris used a lovely array of colors to send get well wishes.  If you are ever ill, a visit from Pam will definitely cheer you up.   Just thinking about a visit with Pam makes me smile!

This CAS design is from the talented and wonderful Patti Carbonell!

My sweet friend Katy McGloin designed this beauty!

Who knew computer whiz and MDS pro Nicole Watt could also watercolor so beautifully?

And yes Mike Funke is as awesome as his card!

The last two cards are from my friends and teammates at Freshly Made Sketches.  They are an awesome group of gals and I am delighted they let me hang out with them!

Artisan Team member extraordinaire Jen Timko wasn't at Convention this year but managed to surprise me by sending along a card for me via Nance!

This gorgeous creation is from the amazingly talented and delightful Amy O'Neil!  So happy we got to meet in person!

Convention Rocks! FMS146

Stampin' Up!'s Convention this past week was terrific! Hanging out with all of those wonderful stampers who live inside my computer was wonderful!  This card is headed to Beth Klaumann who won The Ultimate Stamping Experience on the first night of convention.

And what does this have to do with me you might ask?  Beth got to ask a few friends to join her for the adventure - and I was lucky enough to be included!

A limo picked us up at the Convention Center and whisked us away for a private tour of SU! headquarters in Riverton.

We even got up close and personal on the pick line in the amazingly spotless warehouse.  That's my good friend Dawn Tidd learning how to pack boxes!

The next day we arrived early at the Convention Center for a private backstage tour and had a photo taken with Shelli (which I don't have a copy of yet) and got to stand center stage.

Dawn Tidd, Linda Callahan, Beth Klaumann, Ginger Toivonen, Eletha Suttey, Nicole Cronnelly

We were also given reserved seats waaaaaaay down front for each general session.  Wow it truly was the Ultimate Stamping Experience! Many thanks to all of the wonderful SU! employees who made it all so special!

I used the sets You Rock and Chalk Lines to create this week's card based on Amy's wonderful sketch.

Celebrating! PPA212

My daughter requested a birthday card for a gal who works in her office so I immediately thought of the new Tap Tap Tap set and Typeset DSP. The double row of letters anchor the little reminder notes perfectly.  A few scattered sequins and my card was done!  As you read this I am in Salt Lake City at Stampin' Up!'s annual convention.  It is always fun....and inspiring.  This year we are also going to get a sneak peek at the upcoming holiday catalog and will get a chance to actually buy a few things from it.  Oh I do love Convention.......warming up the charge card.......

There's a fun sketch this week at Pals Paper Arts!

You're A Star.......FMS145

When this post goes live I will actually be in an airplane heading west to Salt Lake City for Stampin' Up!'s annual convention. So excited to meet up with friends and make some new ones......including Amy O'Neil! Our Freshly Made Sketch team is made up of wonderful gals and it is so much fun to meet in person!  I have been fortunate to meet Cindy Hall, stamp with Rita Wright and have lunch with Jen Mitchell. Narelle designed our sweet sketch this week.......not quite sure when I will be able to get to Australia to meet her.....but you never know~!

I used Pictogram Punches and Maritime DSP to create my card this week.  Hope you join us this week at Freshly Made Sketches!

The Colors of Summer.....FMS144

I am headed to a bridal shower this weekend and thought that bright summery colors and the shopping bags from About the Label would work perfectly together on the card. And speaking of summer colors.......

We enjoyed some summery colors last weekend at the lake watching fireworks.

We had a great view of the fireworks from the boat. But it was mighty dark out there on the lake.  I brought along some bright glo-sticks to make into necklaces and bracelets so we could keep track of each other on the boat.  This could be the best picture taken of me ever.......

Karren designed a fabulous sketch for us this week at Freshly Made Sketches.

Amazing! PPA210

My son's birthday is in the fall and I have finished his card already! Amazing! One more item off my checklist titled "Work ahead projects because of Convention in July and vacation in August!"  And you know what else is amazing - besides those wonderful File Tab Framelits - my perfect positioning of this sentiment!  I took one sentiment from Fabulous Four and decided to stamp it on a sheet of Moonight DSP to see how it would look......no thought really.....just a test stamp......and voila!  I could never line up those little words again so perfectly in the gridwork!  You would think I won the lottery!  If you are a stamper you know what I am talking about!  So I trimmed, spattered, added some Lost Lagoon ribbon and I was set.  I will be tucking some $$ into this card for his birthday.  He may be wanting a new camera since photography has become a new hobby. He took this amazing sunset shot at the lake this week.

That beautiful photo inspired my daughter and her husband to go out on the boat the next night ..........here's her photo......looks like their evening wasn't quite as amazing!

Hope you play along with Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge this week!

Voice Mail.....FMS143

A simple Thinking of You card to send to a friend came together after a not so simple afternoon.  We bought a new car and my son-in-law came over to set up the phone Sync for me. Once installed he tried to teach me how to use it. Every time he used the voice command it worked perfectly. I wasn't as quite so successful! (Have I mentioned there are two pages of commands to memorize - really?)  C'mon now he's a pilot.....he is used to talking to a dashboard......he had a definite advantage over me!   When I tried to talk to the dashboard I would start laughing and that voice would ask me questions back.  What a circus! Just before dinner - after he had given up on me - a friend called and said "So how did you do get that Sync to work?  Sounds like you had a few problems."  It seems that I did manage to make one phone call and never managed to hang it up.......and she got a whole answering machine full of our shenanigans!

Wouldn't it be fun if I could just put this card in an envelope, give a command and have it whisk away to its destination? Now that truly would be voice mail.......

Cindy Lovell has a wonderful sketch for us this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  The flower image I used is from a new Stampin' Up set called A Happy Hooray.
