Forever in Our Hearts - FMS474

 

Every dog I have owned has a special place in my heart.  This card is headed to a friend who recently lost her German Shepherd.  They are beautiful dogs and the one I grew up with is the first dog I remember.  I loved that girl!  But it seems that as I have gotten older my dogs have gotten smaller.  Presently I have Abbygirl - a seven pound miniature black poodle who is almost 19 years old.  I have never owned such an elderly dog!  She has lost her hearing and most of her eyesight but she is still quite peppy and happy.  It is amazing how she navigates around our house - including the stairs!  You know what has kept us home for months so she has had lots of extra attention every day.  I know we are on borrowed time with her but as long as she is not in pain we will keep on keeping on!

I have had these rainbow dies in my stash for over a year.  After seeing the inspiration photo at Fusion this year I thought it was time to break them out.  We are all ready for brighter days ahead for sure. The Big Guy and I received our second doses of the vaccine this past week.  We qualified when local pharmacies started offering them to the over 70 crowd.  Wow we are old!  But thanks to that vaccine - and lots of staying home - we hope to get older!  The Big Guy has had no side effects at all.  I had a sore arm and was a bit tired the second and third days.  Nothing major that some extra napping couldn't fix. Hoping that the vaccine rollout continues to improve for sure!

Two of my favorite characters are back!  Stampin' Up! has let those chicks out of the coop again re-releasing the Hey Chick set along with a new set of dies.  You can't beat having a fun neighbor on the other side of the fence!

The Stamp Review Crew is featuring Kangaroo & Company today.  It is a sweet set with options for several occasions.  I decided to make a baby card for our hop.  

In the meantime my youngest grandbaby is growing way too fast!  His momma surprised him with an indoor jungle gym to keep him occupied during our long winter/pandemic days!

Everyone loves letters!  That's what's fun about this hobby of ours.  Making cards means you always have something ready to drop in the mail for just about every occasion.  And who says it has to be a special occasion?  I have sent (and received) more cards than ever during this crazy pandemic.  So take a minute and send a little love......we could all use some!

I love to combine both the sketch and photo at Fusion but I made a few adjustments this week.  I flipped the sketch and tried to make my sweet gnome look like she is wearing a rough burlap type outfit as in the photo.  But then there was one single Rococo Rose heart lying right there on my craft table left over from yesterday's card.  And before I knew it she was rocking a bit of pink!

And speaking of rocking it.....look who learned how to take selfies this week!  Will's mom said he loves to look at himself in her camera so she showed him how to snap a photo!  And just like that a star is born!

Valentine Wreath...FMS 471

 

I only make a few Valentines each year and this year I decided to forgo the traditional red and white.  I am hooked on Seaside Spray and Rococo Rose!  We had a fabulous snowstorm this week so I managed to spend a full day cleaning out the craft room and getting organized for 2021 pandemic crafting as I have signed up for a few on line workshops during February and March.  We are in the midst of snow season so you will find me in front of the fireplace or upstairs in my craft room.  I do go out and walk every morning unless it is snowing - which it has been a lot this past week.  On those days shoveling is my exercise.  The Big Guy snowblows and I "clean up the edges" which means I just putter around in the snow for a while. The snowstorm we had yesterday traveled all the way across the country sharing the wealth in so many states!

I took this picture yesterday morning as I was "shoveling" out front.  The top room on the right is my craft room and right underneath that is the living room/fireplace room.  If I could just convince the Big Guy that the living room would be a perfect craft room I would have the best of both worlds!
