December Birthdays.......FMS14

My daughter and I share the same birthday week - the week before Christmas!   Between upstate NY winter weather and the holiday rush it hasn't always been easy to pull off two family gatherings before Christmas - but we manage!  Now you may be thinking that since my daughter is all grown up and I am oh so old that we really should just combine our birthday parties.  Seriously?  We only get one birthday a year and we are both determined to celebrate it on the exact day we were born!  That has led to some creative ways to celebrate and get people together!  So again this year we will gather on the 14th and the 20th and then again for Christmas on the 24th and the 25th.  Interesting that our family never celebrates New Year's together..........wonder why.............

  3. Your bright and cheerful card is a great one to stand out among all the Christmas decorations. My son has his on the 29th and we always made sure his day wasn't just leftover Christmas decorations and wrapping. Not always easy!
    Thanks for sharing! :)

  4. Well, happy almost birthday to you AND your daughter, Linda!

I don't blame you for laying claim to each of your birthdays. You don't want to feel gypped!

I like this 'present' you created with a half a punch on top for a bow. So clever!

  5. I got my first Merry Birthday card yesterday. Sigh. Us poor December babies. This is a very fun cheerful card, Linda, and a perfect break from Christmas.

  6. A Memorial Day birthday isn't any better cause no one is home, they all take off for the first camping trip of the year! LOL.

What I also love about Linda's card, for those of us that are not December babies, is that by simply changing the message this can be a holiday card. I mean, who doesn't like candy in their stocking! :)

  18. April is like that for our family. My mom's is the first, my brother's is the fourth, my husband's is the fifth and mine is the 18th. My husband and I have combined ours the last few years just to make it a little easier and because we were given a joint gift a few times...plants for landscaping, for example. But generally everyone gets their own day. It has been a little tricky since we don't celebrate the nieces' and nephews' birthdays together. My son and my nephew were born the same day.
