The Party's Over.......almost....

My mother's 85th birthday celebration is officially over!  It began at an "authentic" British pub in Saratoga Springs.  My mother is from England and loved seeing a menu that actually listed such things as Bubble & Squeak and Bangers & Mash.  My daughter took this photo of my son and me toasting the birthday girl as she awaited her fish & chips.  Her next wish was to play penny slot machines so off we headed to the casino.  We were all ready to come home long before she was!  The next day was a larger family gathering at a local steakhouse - the British also like their roast beef.  On Sunday (Mother's Day), everyone came here for dinner and my kiddos planted new bushes beside my porch. All the company is gone and I have had a chance to catch my breath. But the phone just rang.........."You know, Linda, I just realized I need some thank you cards."

Pals Paper Arts challenge this week was to use Tempting Turquoise, Real Red and Old Olive - so I did.......one card done..........11 to go........

Your card is beautiful, love the bold colors together. I especially like the way the three layers mimic each of their rounded corner, very simple and classy.

  6. Okay, I've heard of the Mash but not the bubbles and squeak. You're going to have to fill me in LOL! What a fabulous occasion to celebrate! Your mom looks to be in great health and I'm sure it will be a day she treasures for some time. Just LOVE the card too. Very clever of you to use the leaves as the stem for the flowers. Great job!!

  9. Fabulous card, Linda! I love the real red flower out of paper instead of stamping, the leaves die as a stem is GENIUS and don't EVEN get me started on the colors! What a great birthday celebration for your mom...could I have a serving of Shepherd's Pie, please...with a pint of Boddington's? Cheers to all! :-)
