Farewell Retiring Colors!

Welcome to the Stampin' Pretty Pals June hop! We're bidding a "Fond Farewell" to the retiring colors of Stampin' Up!'s Color Renovation. If you've hopped over from Regina's blog, you are on the right path.  Should you hop off course, simply click on any of the links in the Pals Hop Line-up below and you'll be back on track.

I took a basic decorating class once from a wonderful lady who taught us to never buy something because we thought it would "match." She said always buy what you love and everything will come together.  When I spread out SU's retiring colors to prepare for this hop, I thought of Ruth's advice and decided to pick my favorite three colors:  Barely Banana, Almost Amethyst and Cameo Coral.  I put them together following the Stamping411 sketch and it worked! Sound advice 30 years later!

The Pals have blog candy at every stop. Visit all 17 Stampin' Pretty Pals, answer a specific posted question and you'll have 17 chances to WIN some great Stampin' Up! goodies!

I am offering a pack of Orchid Opulence along with 20 co-ordinating 6x6 sheets of Shades of Spring DSP.  There is also a Cameo Coral ink pad, 4 Groovy Guava notes with envelopes, 6 copper edged metal tags and a roll of Chocolate Chip Alpine Ribbon. Simply leave me a comment and answer this question by 3pm (CST), Friday, June 11th:

What's your stamping style? Quick and easy? Lots of layers and embellishments? Vintage with distressing? Crisp and clean?

My answer would be "Quisp" - quick and crisp!

I will post the winner Sunday, June 13th.  You will have 48 hours to get back to me - US shipping only.

Off you go to the next stop, Anne Eicher - so glad you hopped by!

  170. I enjoy the challenge of layers and embellishments. Quick and easy is not my style. Your blog candy is yummy!

  171. I have to say...after all the cards I have designed by myself with no casing.. has to be vintage with distressing, but when time permits, and esp if I am not teaching it to a lot of stampers...I love lots of layers and embellishments.

  172. Wow, these are colors I would have never put together. Awesome job with the sketch!

  173. Crisp and clean with contrasting layers. Hardly ever get by with quick and easy cards even though I wish I could. Hope I win your blog candy ~ thanks for the great offer!

  174. My style tend to be CASLAYS, which means Clean and Simple but with Layers. I find it very hard to make a one or two layer card. I love your card that you made. I have the set, but have never used it yet. I always draw a blank when it comes to colors for this set. Perhaps I will have to take your Words of Wisdom to mind and make them work for me also. Thanks for the wonderful Blog Candy, colors right up my alley. Love that Orchid Opulence and the DSP.

  180. Quick and easy would best describe my style, although I love the other styles, I just usually opt for the quick style. linhpeterson@yahoo.com

  181. I am definitely a quick gal, however I have learned to finish my initial card and then go back and add 1 more element - either ink the edges or a small bit of ribbon/brad and I am usually much happier with the end results.

Loved your card - it is not a color combo I would have picked but it looks great together.

  182. I love the new term, quisp!!! Your card is fabulous and I love it. I prefer the crisp/clean/quick/easy version... but no BC for me. I'm just havin' a ball answering the questions this morning. Hugs, Carla

  183. Gorgeous card! Love the colors together! I'll miss those colors!

Even though I most appreciate crisp and clean cards, I usually end up with several layers and embellishments. The card doesn't end up going overweight, but it requires extra postage usually because of ribbon embellishments.

  184. I am kinda a split personality when it comes to stamping. My main "personality" is clean and crisp, but I also like layers and embellishments. I am not into the distressed look yet, but have been enjoying the smooch spritz lately.
