Barely Vintage.........

My husband is the most vintage thing around here - followed by me!  I love how people decorate or create in the vintage style but when I try to do it, it just doesn't work.  My Pal Ann Schach is the guest designer this month at Always Playing With Paper and this week's challenge is to create a vintage card.  Ann is an absolute master of vintage creations.  I told her I would try to step outside of my clean and simple box just for her.  I think I have created a new style - CAS vintage.  I tried tearing edges - too messy - used the deckle scissors.  I tried sponging edges - too messy - cut them off.  I speckled the background of my stamped image and it almost gave me a heart attack - had to do it over cleanly.  But I do love the Lap of Luxury DSP and the vintage brad!  This will go to friend of mine who just retired - she is like the card - just barely vintage..................

  2. Such a beautiful card, Linda! So soft and pretty--I think it is perfectly vintage. Love the combination of colors and the lap of luxury DSP is so rich! Your deckled edges are perfection--I can never use those scissors correctly. And the coloring on the flowers is gorgeous. I like your style of vintage! BTW, your new profile pic is great!

  10. You are too cute. Love your card, barely vintage is perfect. I have a hard time speckling the background too. I haven't used my deckle scissors in a long time maybe I will get them out.

  11. Linda, as a vintage element myself ...... err... lets not go there!
I love this card. There is nothing wrong with clean and simple vintage:-) I love the color scheme you have created. The ribbon and the vintage brad are the perfect finishing touch. I haven't used the frame from the Just Believe set, but after seeing how beautifully yours turned out, I need to go ink it up.
    All round fabulous card.
Thank you so much for joining the Paper Players this week.
