Ahhh Valentine week - I'm happy to report I got a Valentine or two and this sweet treat from Nance Leedy:
I used the sketch at Pals Paper Arts to create a card to tell that Canopy Girl just what I think of her! She is one talented lady and a visit to the Canopy is always delightful!
When I taught third grade we would study the rainforest and its layers which included the fact that some flowers actually grow and bloom high above the ground in the canopy. The canopy blocks sunlight so the forest floor is too dark for many flowers to grow. At the end of a lesson one day I asked, "Who knows why there aren't lots of bright flowers on the forest's floor?" And a little guy answered: "Because the florist would trip over them all of the time!" Think about it........
I just love to hear what kids think!! I have a third grader, and she says the most darned adorable things.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous card. I love the distressing, the flower and that ribbon treatment. So beautiful, Linda!!! What was that show, Kids Say the Darnest Things... I loved that!!! I keep a little file of 3 X 3 cards with the silly things my family says so I always have them. I had a surprise for my son, Wes when he came home from school one afternoon and I was teasing him about it and he said "You got Kenny Rogers"!!! "No Wes, I didn't get Kenny Rogers, you got a new toy". He was so disappointed. He was about 5 or 6 and hates it when I tell that story. lol
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card, love everything about it and your wonderful story. The flower is gorgeous and I really like the darker ink on the edges of the petals.
