Father's Day Smiles.......

Golf made my dad smile so he would have appreciated this card made from a retired SU set, a new hostess set called Perfect Words and the new Just Add Cake DSP.  Come to think of it cake made him smile too! He was a great storyteller with a quick wit and wonderful laugh. We lost him a few years ago due to a stroke. In the ICU as I tried to explain what was happening, he - a former electrician - whispered "I guess I really blew a fuse this time." To which I replied "Dad, I think you blew out the whole darn transformer!" And he smiled.......

It was our last conversation but I will be forever grateful that it ended with a smile.  Hope you shared some smiles with your dad today - or if you are lucky like me you have plenty of memories that still make you smile!

  1. Awww Linda, I love your card. My dad is a golfer also and has had to slow down a little having had a defibrillator put in 2 years ago. He tells me he is not able to hit as hard as he used to but being 74, I think it's awesome he still golfs! The little touches on your card really finish it off-the pennants, the curled corner and the sentiment. Your dad would certainly love this!

  4. Linda,

You take reflection to an art that touches the soul. I still have my Dad, but not sure how much longer. He gave up golf to give more hands-on emotional support to my Mom. God only knows how much longer I will have them both!

  6. Linda this card is so adorable! Loved your story too. My family, prior to losing my mom & dad, used to golf together every Mother's Day & Father's Day. Your card and story reminded me of those wonderful days. My dad would have loved your card too. Hugs.

  7. This is fantastic Linda. I love how you've used the designer paper a lot but it is not over powering the masculine sense of the card. It is perfect. Thanks for sharing this with us.
