You Asked for It!

OK Angie, Jen, LeAnne and Nance - you asked for it!  Had to go in the attic and dig but I found a faded old snapshot of me my first year of teaching - long hair, mini skirt, and platform shoes.  Interesting that we couldn't wear pants to school but miniskirts were perfectly ok! Some guy must have made that rule!  This shot was taken toward the end of the school year at "not yet my husband's" college graduation.  Ahhh the 70's............

It wasn't long before we were all in maxi skirts and boots!

There is a bit of stamping to report in this post.  I have been 4 days working on my daughter's baby shower invites.  She liked a recent thank you card I made for her so I modeled them after this card.  All I have left to do is address the envelopes.  Mass production makes me crazy - each card required 7 trips through the Big Shot - times 40 cards - yikes!

After all of that talk about bedazzled bunnies Erin decided simple flowers with button centers worked best so we are doing a "Cute as a Button" theme.

  1. Linda your cards are fabulous and love all the details.. but I'm way too lazy for seven trips through the BS. I would have stacked some stuff and cut 6,7, 8 at a time!

Now about those legs!!! whoo hoo girlfriend. Don't you wish we could go back ....hugs

  2. Those cards are cute, Linda!!! But, wow - 7 trips through the Big Shot for each? Well worth the effort, I say!!!

And wow.... look at the trip back in time! So funny about the dress code, no pants allowed for women, but mini skirts are A-OK!!! LOL

Your invites are quite cute, but I have a mantra for invites: "simple, simple, simple"! We know now just how much you love your DD, don't we! SO sweet, and what a great theme!

  6. OK... cards first! LOVE them, I can see why she fell in love with them and, they really were worth the trip to the Big Shot so often!
Now..... oh... those were the days. Mini skirts. Long hair. Platform shoes. Youth. You have taken me on a trip back and I think I need to go dig out my old photographs. This shows the foxy, sexy lady in you - and we know she's still there!
    Hugs

  22. Woohoo, Linda!
I've been spending time here this evening on your blog loving your designs and had to stop on this one. The invitations are gorgeous!!
I've enjoyed following your progress as Grandma to be and will keep checking back.

The flash back photo shows you were and are a knock out! Yes, I wore mini skirts and platforms just like yours but doubt I looked as good. I remember well the first day we could wear jeans to school.

As alway, I LOVE visiting your blog. Your work is always amazing.
