Enjoy the Ride! PPA155
I love this image but I never had a bike like this - nor can I ever imagine riding one! When I was young the elderly lady next door had a bicycle built for two. It was a fabulous bicycle with big balloon tires and comfy seats. Since my dad helped take care of her property he was "allowed" to take it for a spin any time he wanted to. I loved riding on that bike - and I got very good at showing up in the garage with some iced tea just as he was putting away the lawnmower........which was parked right next to the bike......so as long as we are both here we might as well go for a ride - right Dad?
Hope you take the sketch at Pals Paper Arts for a spin this week!
Oh I LOVE this card...in fact, I was just thinking about this paper yesterday and have some sitting on my desk right now, waiting to play with it! A fabulous way to use that stamp...why didn't I think of that!?
ReplyDeleteMakes me want to pull down my bike...which is hanging in the garage, and go for a spin. Love this paper and stamp together, very cute!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant combination of this stamp and paper!
ReplyDeleteLove your memory and this card! It really "measures" up!!
ReplyDeleteAnother great card, Linda Callahan! I love this paper and love that you paired it with this stamp image! Love the story about riding the two-seater with your dad too!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great story to go along with this wonderful card!
ReplyDeleteLinda this is so cool. I love the old "Schwin" type bikes as background to the image of the OLD bike focal point. We also "lived" on our bikes as kids as we couldn't even think of getting a car until we could help "pay" for it too! Oh yeah... I rode my bike for a LONG time! hugs.
ReplyDeleteAw! What a sweet card, with its vintage touches, and a sweet story. I never did have a bike growing up on the farm...but I did have a pony :) lol
ReplyDeleteThis image is perfect for this paper Linda - fabulous card!
ReplyDeleteStunning use of images, papers and embellishments, Linda. What a gorgeous card! Loved your story, too!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card! And such a great memory of your dad, sounds like fun!
ReplyDeleteBeautifully done, Linda. It almost makes me want to run out and go for a bike ride...Almost!
ReplyDeleteI love the vintage feel of your stamping! That bike, your papers and accessories...perfect!
ReplyDeleteLove how you tied the two different bikes together, just perfect.
ReplyDeleteAh, comfy seats on a bike are everything! The seats on the stationary bikes at the gym hurt, so I go for other equipment.
ReplyDeleteLove this vintage bike card!
