It's August - Not Autumn....yet! FMS148

Oh I know it is August but Autumn has a way of sneaking up on you here in the Northeast.  This sweet starry baby card also has a hint of fall on it. The designer paper that frames the mobile from Celebrate Baby is part of a Halloween collection in the new SU! holiday catalog called Motley Monsters - some fun monster scenes backed with great designs! I used embossing paste and the new SU! Star stencil to create the stars in the background.  I scraped the paste on with a serrated plastic knife to make the ridges.

And just in case anyone around needs reminding what will be here all too soon I thought I would share my son's latest Facebook post with you....

Jen Mitchell designed our super sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches.  Hope you play along!

  1. Linda... what a cute card! I love the mobile!
I don't have that set... BUT I could improvise with my umbrella set! Ya think?

PS: Please don't remind me that summer is almost over before it got here! Bummer.

  2. Love the colors of this card and of course the layout! How did you give the stars ( on the base of the card) a striped texture? I love that look!

  7. I'm so glad you mentioned the serrated plastic knife because I was wondering how you got that wonderful texture on the stars. I'm definitely filing that info away for future use! Oh, and boo for the snow. Autumn is ok. Winter not so much.
