Real Life........FMS159

Lost Lagoon paired with silver looks wonderful on a Christmas card. The overall effect is serene and peaceful so I thought about writing a serene and peaceful post.  But then I thought perhaps you would like to know what is really happening as I type......

My daughter and her husband are on business trips.  My son and his girlfriend flew off on an adventure and my husband is managing everyone's affairs for the week.  That leaves me house sitting at my daughter's in charge of a toddler, three poodles and one maltese. Someone always needs food, a drink or a trip outside! (Walking four dogs and a two year old should be an Olympic sport!)  So as I type poodles are wrestling on the bed while the "sleeping" two year old yells "Puppy! Puppy!" from her crib across the hall. And thanks to the baby monitors "Puppy!  Puppy!" echos loud and clear in every room!  Meanwhile the maltese (the only dog who actually lives here) is barking and guarding the toddler's room from invading poodles. Somewhere in the house Super Grover sings every few minutes but I can't find where he is hiding or why he is singing.  My phone is dinging with text messages from my daughter checking up on Emma and my son checking on the poodles. But still I type..........

That fabulous Jen Mitchell has a sweet simple sketch for us this week at Freshly Made Sketches! Enjoy!

  4. Oh Linda, I couldn't help but laugh as I read your story. Three dogs, a toddler and a Grover will surely keep you on your toes! In the meantime, you've created a lovely peaceful Christmas card - keep looking at it while you house/dog/baby-sit :)

  6. Love how you used the sketch!! The trio of trees is fabulous. Great card. You had me LOL with the goings on - especially the comment about the walking the dogs and a two year old as an Olympic sport! Have a very fun mental image in my mind on that one! Hope you find Super Grover too ((hugs))!! You can do it :)

  7. You're going to need to fly off on your own adventure after this week! And you're right about Lost Lagoon being perfect for Christmas cards. It reminds me a bit of Buckaroo Blue and I used that endlessly on Christmas cards many years ago!

  8. Oh, I love this combo of Lost Lagoon and Silver! And I love how you've clustered the trees for this sketch. Picturing you walking four dogs with a toddler in tow gave me a good laugh. I'll bet you sleep well at night this week.

  9. luv your card. LOL ... I can totally relate to your sitting experience. I have had two barking shih tzus, ( who are mine LOL) a boxer and an 18 month old ( who never naps for me).... toddler toys that all make noises all over the house. Yet when someone asks....do you work? I still say no for some odd reason. LOL
