On The Road Again........FMS186
1970.......it was green......with a big yellow flower on the back.....my first VW Beetle. I was in love! I learned how to shift, steer and scrape ice that formed on the inside of the windshield without missing a beat. That green bug was followed by a blue one and then a silver one. I thought there was nothing that could separate me from my beetle.........until I had to wrestle a baby and a carseat in the back seat........
Jen Brum has a delightful sketch for us this week at Freshly Made Sketches!
CUTE!!! I almost learned to drive a stick in a Beetle too....never quite got the hang of it until many, many years later! I am sure my ex cringed as a stalled and ground the gears, LOL! This is just adorable and I love the movement you've got going!
ReplyDeleteLove this cute card, Linda, especially the eyelet holes. That's a mighty big obstacle hose cars are having to climb over!
ReplyDeleteThis is an awesome card! Love the little Beetles cruising over the hill. Great colors too! :)
ReplyDeleteLinda, this is ADORABLE!!!!! Love the Beetle Bugs! Such a fun card! The eyelet holes look fabulous! XXX
ReplyDeleteI love your card!!! It just made me smile - I learned to drive my first stick in a little Honda 37 years ago in Pittsburgh. Those hills were killers! Thanks for inspiring me!!!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I agree with everyone - what a cute card and my second car was a green standard Beetle. What a fun card!
ReplyDeleteCute, cute, cute! I love everything about this card! I never had a beetle but we did camp cross-country in a VW camper! ;)
ReplyDeleteSuch a fun take on the sketch. Karen x
ReplyDeleteI love your card! I have fond memories of a pair of matching white bugs my grandparents had!
ReplyDeleteNow that's a great story. Never would have pegged your for a Beetle girl! Great card to celebrate that car and your adventurous spirit!!
ReplyDeleteWell this is one cute card and a fabulously clever way to use the sketch! I always wanted one of those cars...and you had 3! Fantastic!
ReplyDeleteCute, cute, cute! I love the large piercing on your panels and the fun colors. I can totally believe that carseats and Beetles don't mix.
ReplyDeleteThis is just the cutest card ever! Your cars driving over the circle is just too clever and I loved your Beetle story!
ReplyDeleteLinda this is adorable! Love this card.
ReplyDeleteSo funny! My girlfriend had beetle all through high school ... '66'-'69... we had so much fun in that thing..and when my sister got married a few years later, her & hubby each had one - green & blue - with half the HEART "Just Married" side by side.
What a fun travel card!
ReplyDeleteI love beetles too!!
ReplyDeleteAnd your card is fabulous,i just love how you stamped the cards and the great colors!!
Love this card Linda! those Beetles are so cute! I can't believe you owned one...or three for that matter! I'm jealous! Love your stitched circle, that very cool border and those fun triangles!
ReplyDeleteAnother very clever design! I love the way your cars travel over the circle! Too cool. Another "why didn't I think of that" moment!
ReplyDeleteLOL You always crack me up! Love this card. The dots, the stitching, the cars driving over the circle...all fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI love VW beetles and vans....our family has owned many of both over the years. Love your sweet card!
ReplyDeleteThis card is adorable and of course I have to add attribute to my beetle. In 1973, it was bright yellow. During it's long lifespan it got hit on 3 out of 4 sides. My husband swears its because I picked a color that looked like a target.
ReplyDeleteLove the card! Didn't have a beetle but had a VW Fastback for a while. Would love to do a Beetle (or more) charging down a hill or a road for a friend who loved hers, but haven't been able to get a silhouette one like yours. The only one I could see only shipped to the U.S. and Canada, not to Australia. Where did you get yours please?
ReplyDeleteRegards, Susan
