Soft and Sweet.......FMS194

If you are a regular reader here you know that I usually make just one of a kind cards with a specific person in mind. But there is an exception to my rule....sympathy cards. I don't want to be blithering all over the card stock trying to put one together! So I just create them when the mood strikes and then I have a stash to pick from when needed.  And it always strikes me as odd what puts me in that mood.......but I go with it......

I adore this picture my daughter took last weekend of Emma and the big guy walking back up to camp from the beach.  It is a sweet picture and makes me smile!  And somehow that soft sweet picture with the bit of pink led to my card......

I used Blushing Bride with b/w and several stamps - a splash from Work of Art, frames from Pretty Thankful, a butterfly from Garden in Bloom and a beautifully scripted sentiment from Oh Happy Day by Avery Elle. The DSP frame is from the fabulous b/w set called Everyday Chic.

I am hosting this week at Freshly Made Sketches! Come on over and check out our amazing Design Team! I would love to see what you create with my sketch!

  2. This is so sweet! I love how you used the frames around the splotches, and the Blushing Bride with the black is a great combo. I'm with LeAnne, I need to check out that set. The script sentiment is beautiful! Of course, the inspiration picture is precious!

  3. Linda love this card.... I too must have missed the frame... you always make me WANT more stuff! Sometimes the stamp doesn't look like much until someone like YOU makes it look like a million bucks!

  6. Beautiful card Linda. It conveys a peacefulness that makes it ideal for a sympathy card. Might have to case this beauty! And, I like your idea of having them on hand. What an adorable picture of Emma and your hubby.

  17. This is fabulous, Linda! I love how you used the sketch, and how you used the black sqaures over the watercolor stamping. This is clean, simple and perfect for a sympathy card, but graat for almost any sentiment. Love the colors you chose, too!

  20. This mix of stamps is perfect for a sympathy card. And I love the Blushing Bride for it too -- not a color I would have thought to use for a sympathy card, but I love it. This was a fun sketch, Linda!
