Loose Ends - PP280, CTS157, PPA285 (almost)
I received a few questions about my last two blog posts so I thought I would tie up some loose ends.........
1. My Windows 10 upload went well but I still use Chrome - not sure about that Microsoft Edge!
2. Picasa, my photo editing program, doesn't play well with Windows 10. It won't automatically upload pictures from my camera disk like Windows 8. I finally discovered that I need to open Picasa after I insert the disc. A camera icon appears in the upper left hand corner and I can click on upload and then work as usual.
3. The Shark Place is a real restaurant near Ron Jon's Surf Shop in Cocoa Beach - one of our favorite places to go!
4. Surrender Dorothy was written in the sky by the Wicked Witch in the Wizard of Oz.......not by a skywriting plane.
So now that my chores are done - a bit about my card!
Jaydee has a fun Tic-Tac-Toe challenge for us this week at the Paper Players! I went right across the middle with Die Cuts, Pink and Girly using stamps from Celebrate Today and Balloon Celebration. The diecut is from the Celebrate set by My Favorite Things. A touch of gold adds some girly glam!
I also used the sketch from CAS(E) this sketch.......
and the colors from Pals Paper Arts........ but realized too late that I used Melon Mambo instead of Watermelon Wonder! So much for "oh I will remember those colors - I don't have to write them down"! But the good news is that they are in the same family and could easily be substituted!
I love it! The die cut happy is awesome and I love the gold touches. Fantastic card!! Glad to hear that your computer issues are all worked out. "Upgrading" never seems to be as easy as they claim it will be. :)
ReplyDeleteAdorable card, Linda. I think that one of my most favorite image in the stamp set is the dotted circle and you showcased it perfectly! Love the gold touches!! And with your "clean up" details, I had to go back through your last couple of posts. Glad that I knew about "surrender Dorothy"... have not seen either movie so am clueless... did NOT know that there was an icon for the Picasa picture download and had to learn the hard way about uploading my pictures to Picasa. Now that you have reminded me that you use Picasa, I will have to send you an email about how you do your watermark for the pictures, LOL... So glad that you included the Pals Paper Arts color challenge in with your remarkable combination of challenges!!
ReplyDeleteanother masterpiece Ms. Linda! I just saw it on the paper players blog (I will be working some magic with purple somehow) and thought...such a great card! You always have such great details on your cards! And thanks for clearing up stuff!
ReplyDeletehaha
This is such a fun and pretty card, Linda! I love the way you placed the balloon (off the edge of the panel), the swirls of the gold cording trim, and the die-cut sentiment!
ReplyDeleteHi Linda! I went down the middle too. Who can resist die cuts and pink? AND girly!! Your card fits the bill... I love it!
ReplyDeleteSuper cute, Linda! I love the "HAPPY", especially with the gold behind it. Lots of dots behind the balloon are really adorable. Melon Mambo, Watermelon Wonder…I would have never known!

ReplyDeleteThis is one of those cards that stands out a mile in the galleries, Linda! I love it, I'm pinning it, I want to make it!! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy you cleared up those questions...what a hoot, Linda! This card is absolutely beautiful. I love when a card can be both playful AND beautiful. Thanks for playing along with our PPA color challenge this week.
