Celebrate with Cake! FMS249

Any kind of celebration calls for cake in my world......why just wait for birthdays?!?!?  My daughter and I went to a Dierks Bentley concert over the weekend at a beautiful amphitheater on Onondaga Lake.  It was a terrific show and we had so much fun.  During one of Dierks' romantic songs the guy in front of us dropped to his knee and proposed to his girlfriend.......such fun.....and so much cheering!  And then I thought....wow we need a cake........  :)

My talented friend Kim Singdahlsen has a cool layered ;) sketch for us this week at Freshly Made Sketches - have fun with it!  I used Birthday Banners and Pop of Pink DSP for my card.

  3. Awesome card Linda! Love the three little candles and the cute banner. I agree completely with you on needing more cake celebrations...the proposal at the concert would have been an idea time for a cake. Hope that the next guy plans a little better! ;)

  4. I love those bold, bright candles! And I love all of that gorgeous white space. It sounds like you had a fun evening at the concert. Did you offer to make their wedding invitations? :)

  5. Linda I just love this card and really like the idea of the card being NOT a birthday... but still uses the CAKE stamps! Love this!
Now of course I want to CASE this for my next class! Hugs.

PS: How romantic was that proposal!

  6. I'm not sure I should admit this in such a public fashion, but I have no idea who Dierks Bentley is. Is that a person? Or is it a band with a name that vaguely resembles an actual person, like Lynyrd Skynyrd? Oy! In any event, I agree with you that a cake is the correct response to just about any occasion. And throw in some candles and you've got a party! Terrific card!

  7. I'm with Jen above, but at least I live on a totally different continent so have some sort of excuse for not knowing ;) But onto your card. It is so fun! The candles are fabulous and the thread and enamel dots are such a cool look.

  9. This is such a great card! I love those candles and the fun gold thread! Oh and those enamel dots. I totally forgot to order those!!! Love that there was a proposal at the concert! I think cake is required for all celebrations - or any moment actually! When we have our FMS get together there will be LOTS of cake!!!
