You're Perfect in My Book! FMS274
True confession; Cardmaking is not my #1 way to spend my free time......gasp! I am a reader......I started way back in the dark ages with The Bobbsey Twins and have never looked back. After I retired from teaching I took a part time job at our local library. Every Tuesday afternoon you can find me processing the new books that have just been released - it's a great job - and every week one or two of those new books usually end up at my house!
But fear not - cardmaking is a close second to reading! Both of these pastimes inspire me, entertain me and teach me so many new things. And through stamping blogs, Facebook and cardmaking events I have even met a lot of "characters" in person! ;0)
When I looked at the SAB set Tasty Treats my first thought was Bookmobile! So I added a few images from To Thine Own Shelf (Simon says Stamp) and tucked in a little heart. I just might be sending this out as a Valentine to a friend who also loves to read.
Hope you join us this week at Freshly Made Sketches. My friend from waaaaay up north....Jen Brum....designed a great sketch for us!
What a sweet little bookmobile! Love that idea. :) Great colors and design! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a super card! This is my favorite SAB truck, by far! I, too have a reading obsession and work p/t at our local library. Mostly just to get my hands on the latest books FIRST! The SSS set works perfectly.
ReplyDeleteOH, this is just so cute and suits you to a tee! I remember the book mobile and you're so clever to create this one from Tasty Treats! Your coloring is perfect and I love the sign on top! Sweet card!
ReplyDeleteI love this. I have the SSS set too because my daughter is a librarian. And as a kid in NYC I loved the bookmobile!

ReplyDeleteSWOON! So stinking clever and your coloring is top notch. Fantastic card my friend!
ReplyDeleteSo. you would completely relate to 'playing sick' to stay home and read the latest Nancy Drew?
ReplyDeleteLOve that you've turned this into a bookmobile!!! I also do love a great food truck ... I love to read, I eat, and I craft - to live!!!
LOve your card!!!

Awesome card, Linda!
ReplyDeleteSo cute! TFS
ReplyDeleteI love your bookmobile -- genius use of this set. And how genius of you to use this stamp set with the sketch! ;)
ReplyDeleteThis is such a great card Linda! I love you bookmobile! Such great colouring and I love how you integrated the two stamp sets! The very first chapter book series I read was the Bobbsey Twins! I still have them, though my boys aren't interested. Boys!
ReplyDeleteThis couldn't be more brilliantly adorable, Linda! I love how you've incorporated the two banners element.
ReplyDeleteA bookmobile! What a clever idea, I just love it!
ReplyDeleteLinda I just LOVE this card! You really know how to think outside the box sister! What a great way to use this stamp set... AND ... I bought the book stamps when you made another card I fell in love with a while back. (book on a shelf)... Such a GREAT INSPIRATION!!!
ReplyDeletePS: I'm sure BOTH Nancy & Nance do too! Both Librarians.... I'm sure you know.
My John's daughter also does Book Fairs as a profession. Hugs.
Oh this is so clever! Both using the truck for a bookmobile and how you used the truck and flags for the sketch!
ReplyDeleteLinda this card is just fabulous - I love your little mobile library, so creative and perfect for a bookworm!
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw this truck I thought of the ice cream man. But I can certainly see why you would see a book-mobile. What a creative take on the sketch!
ReplyDeleteAs a book worm myself, I think your card is fabulous - (and can't wait to get my hands on this Stampin' Up stamp set!).
ReplyDeleteSuper cute card Linda! That image is so fun! Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteI love how you used this stamp set! I am also book lover so thank you for the tip on the source for the other stamp.
ReplyDeleteThis little truck is a brilliant use of the sketch. You are amazing, my friend!
