The Stamp Review Crew is featuring Crafting Together today. I love this set and have used it before (you can see those cards here, here and here) but I haven't used the twine peg image. So I challenged myself to use that clothespin today. When I start a card I often play around with the image I want to use. My first thought was a rainbow lineup of yarn......so I did this to plan out spacing.....
But then I decided they looked like a row of tied up Rockettes so that wasn't going to work at all! Finally I thought of that funky sketch at Cas(e) this Sketch this week and I was in business!
I embossed the sentiment and did some masking to create the swirl of pegs! The rest of the sentiment was stamped inside.
If you missed Rochelle's wonderful work head back there......
Otherwise head onward to see what treat Kelly has in store!
Ha ha ha, tied up Rockettes!! Yes, they do! I love the final version -- great use of that image. I wasn't really sure what to do with it.
ReplyDeleteToo cute! Love your card and your comment about the Rockettes cracked me up...now I'm going to see that every time I look at that stamp set! :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a creative way to use the sketch challenge, Linda. Love how your colorful and fun card turned out. I had fun with that sketch too..very inspiring. TFS Hugs..
ReplyDeleteBwahahaha! "Tied up Rockettes" Now that you mention it, they do, indeed! I also couldn't figure out what to do with that image, so I haven't used it. You really rocked it!
ReplyDeleteI love how you split up the sentiment! The twirled clothespins are awesome, and so much better that Tied up Rockettes :)
ReplyDeleteLove how you used the sketch to get your design inspiration and then modified your original idea to make a FABULOUS creation! Love it!
ReplyDeleteFun card Linda! Love the gorgeous, bright colours and then the clothes pin stamped in the circular motion is a fabulous idea. Rochelle xo

ReplyDeleteOMG, Linda, "tied up Rockettes"??? Bwahahahaha! When I tried something similar I was thinking chain gang because I had stamped my row in black. Love the final result, though. A very cool effect.
ReplyDeleteClever use of the stamps!! This one made me smile.
ReplyDeleteThese Rockettes are such fun! Love the colors you used.
ReplyDeleteI saw dancers when I saw your "Rockette" card, i may just use that idea for cards for my Granddaughter's competition dance team! I usually do thank you cards for them to give to their sponsors. Live both cards.
ReplyDeleteLinda - your "tied up Rockettes" line cracked me up! Love the card. Great job!
ReplyDeleteWell, this is really fun! Love it!
ReplyDeleteSuper fun take on the sketch!
ReplyDeleteI'm so behind... the faster I go, the behinder I get!!
ReplyDeleteGuess what? I spotted that Sketch at first glance! LOve those old timey clothes pins - wish I had my mom's in her little cloth bag that hung on the clothesline!
So happy to see this 'memory' in the gallery!
