This little panda is just the right guy to deliver a sweet message. In today's world of instant messaging, texting and cell phones it is a treat to receive a handwritten message.
The Big Guy and I leave notes on the kitchen table to keep each other posted on our whereabouts if need be. He is not a fan of cell phones and reluctantly carries an old flip phone for emergencies. We all know better than to call him just to chat. And iPhones are the devil's tool in his world. I left my phone on the table the other morning while I walked the dog. As I came back into the kitchen he was poking at my phone and yelling hello. He said Erin was calling but he couldn't answer it. I took the phone and swiped it to call her back when to my surprise Adele popped up on the screen and started singing Hello. Yes somehow the Big Guy managed to disconnect the call and wake up that helpful "person" who lives in your phone who naturally thought the he was ordering a tune from Adele! The Big Guy was not amused ...... but I am still laughing.....hey even Superman had his kryptonite!

Awww, what a sweet card! That panda is just too cute and you've paired it with the perfect sentiment. Thanks so much for inviting me to hop in for the design team this week!! So glad that we sat across the table from each other a lunch a few years ago!! :)
ReplyDeleteLinda I love this Panda set. I have many kits already for classes in the future... Your card is so darling.... and speaking of darlings... I totally relate. My John still has a basic flip phone... AND he turns it on when he gets in the car. Then when he gets where he is going he turns it off! Does NOT carry it with him ever... I asked him "what part of 'MOBILE' phone do you not understand?" He doesn't care either... said if they want to talk to me they can call me when I'm home! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteSuch a fun card, Linda! I think these pandas are absolutely adorable! I love how you've pulled from the sketch and the picture to make one card that pulls inspiration from both. YOU are the best, my friend! <3
ReplyDeleteAdorable use of that cute panda! Love the DSP and word die with him. He is just right to carry that cute message!

ReplyDeleteHi Linda! Hope you are staying warm and enjoying all that snow! I LOL at your "Big Guy" story. My Bill still carries a flip phone, too! I can relate! Love this cute little panda! Happy New Year, My Friend! XX
ReplyDeleteCute card, and funny story!
ReplyDeleteThis is so adorable! Love the mix of patterned paper and the panda is too cute! And the Big Guy kinda reminds me of my cats when they step all over the keyboard on my laptop and somehow manage to open programs, open help pages for Chrome, turn up the volume, mute the volume, etc. etc. Even I don't know how they do it!
ReplyDeleteHa! That's such a great story! And I just love this card you've created - so very cute.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty card!! I LOVE the Panda and the lovely red you used peeking out from under the wood grain. What a funny story too!!
ReplyDeleteI'm married to a flip-phone kinda guy too!! I just ordered that Panda - I love how you paired it with the Simon Says sentiment. The papers are just perfect!
