While I was finishing this ocean-y card the Big Guy called and said it was time to launch the Waverunners. Who am I to argue with that? So I headed to the lake at lunchtime and stopped to pick up a pizza. At the restaurant I held the door open for a lady who had difficulty walking and I helped her down the steps as well. When I came out with the pizza she was almost to her car which was near mine and she called out -
"Thank you young lady for helping me out. That was very kind of you!'
And I responded "Thanks for calling me young lady!"
She laughed and said, "Oh you are young - just wait until you are my age.....I'm 68!"
Yeow that's my number too! Sometimes you need a wakeup call to realize how fortunate you are! So I have vowed to stop complaining about all my aches and pains and will ride that waverunner as long as I can.........as long as I don't see a real octopus under my vessel!

Yep, we're only as old as we feel...hope that you had a blast out there jumping waves and cutting cookies on your waverunner. ;) Sweet card too! Love the clean and layered design!
ReplyDeleteOh, Linda! LOOK at you go! There wouldn't be enough life jackets to get me on one alone - but I'd ride behind you anyday… you look like you know what you're doing!
ReplyDeleteYou also know how to make the cutest cards - I LOve the fishnet! Wherever did you find that die? SU? xx
=]
Ha! Funny story! You made the perfect card to go with your wave runner adventure! Keep riding those waves!
ReplyDeleteAren't you brave -- going out on the water after making a card with an octopus! I love how you've used the sketch.
ReplyDeletewell, you are certainly inspiring...I'm a little afraid of the water-but, I'm going to be doing water aerobics at the gym as soon as my swimsuit comes from QVC.
ReplyDeleteAs for your card it is as they say "too stinkin cute." I love the colors and it just all works together for this sketch!
Love your card! How fitting that you finished and then headed to the water! Please let me know how you made the net. I have been searching for a die to no avail.
ReplyDeleteWell, young lady, you have created a fun and youthful card! This just makes me smile. And I'm so glad you are young in every way that counts, because let's face it, age is just a number.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun collage of fun images, my jet-skiing mama!
ReplyDeleteThe net is from SU.....the die set that goes along with this stamp set - Under the Sea Framelits.
ReplyDeleteLinda you GO GIRL! I give you lots of credit for all you do. I'm right there with you sister when it comes to the numbers, but the last I was close to a wave runner, (never the driver) I was trying to get onto one after falling off a tube being towed by the boat. What an adventure!!
ReplyDeleteI laughed so hard I couldn't get up! I tried and tried for 15 minutes, then just gave up: they had to haul me in to shore hanging on the tube! HUGS
Awesome card, young lady! Great story and good for you to be out on that wave runner! Looks like a lot of fun!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a great ocean themed card! I love that octopus but if I new there was an octopus under my wave runner I wouldn't be anywhere near the water!!! No thanks! Well, young lady, this card is amazing and so are you!
ReplyDeleteI wasn't sure where that story was going but I sure laughed out loud when I got to the punch line! Love how you mixed the aquatic theme of your card with your aquatic antics on the lake. You're a brave girl!
