Small Things.....FMS351

I start and end each day with a cup of tea.  There is something calming about putting the kettle on and making tea.  I am sipping my evening cuppa while I type this and thought I would share some of the small things that happened today that definitely made my day better......

~ my SU order arrived (from the new catalog!)

~ my thirty-one order arrived (from their new craft line)

~ my Amazon order arrived (for Emma's birthday)

~ my Pampered Chef order was shipped - hmmmmm seeing a pattern here.......

And while I was peacefully sipping my breakfast tea that crazy squirrel launched himself from the hydrangea tree onto my kitchen screen and started gnawing anew!  I roared at him and away he went.....probably to go home and brew his own pot of tea and plan his next invasion.....

I loved Jen Timko's sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Hope you play along!

  1. I love your card! Perfect colors and perfect sentiment! I'm thinking that it might be time to figure out how to electrify the screen on your house. Nothing like a good zap to keep the squirrels out. ;)

  2. I'm a coffee girl, myself. But will have a cup of tea on occasion... I especially love the one my mom loved: Lemon Lift - it's so wonderful, and makes me think of her.
She'd have a good idea how to get rid of that squirrel, it might involve her wet dish cloth... or frying pan. Me? I'm liking the idea from Amy above!
Your card is really lovely, Linda, and true that.

  3. The UPS fella must love you! I'm having a squirrel problem myself. They strip my apple tree every fall and I decided to do something about it this year. I borrowed a Have-a-Heart trap from a friend. I used apple pieces and peanut butter to set it, and caught one within 2 hours! Took him on a little jaunt out of town and let him go. We'll see how many times I have to do this. Good luck with yours!

  4. So cute! Love the two cups and sweet sentiment. Now, where's the cake? I'm sipping my tea as I'm reading this and chuckling at the squirrel antics! You should see the new design on our polywood Adirondack chairs the squirrels have gnawed on them! Grrrr....

  5. As I sit here and look at my discarded yellow tea cup die-cut that I tried and failed to use for this sketch, I admire your card even more. You have made it work beautifully! And that sentiment is the perfect finishing touch. Very pretty, Linda!

  7. Linda this card is calming ... just like your tea. I also like the way you shop... just like me. You never have to leave the comfort of tea cup; now about that squirrel??? I like the comment about electrifying the screen! OMG... too funny Hugs.

  8. There is something calming about the ritual of making a cup of tea. It must be the kettle to boil on the stove. No K cups or microwave involvement! Enjoy all of your lovely packages!!

  10. Perhaps the squirrel thought you were making a second cup for him. :-) This is really lovely. The colors are so soft and pretty.

  11. That squirrel! He must really like you! I'm a coffee girl but I can substitute your tea cups for coffee cups easy peasy. The sentiment works for both, I think!

  12. Chuckling here at your squirrel and his pot of tea. Your card really brings fall in rural country to mind. Great job. I'm sitting here drinking my morning cup of coffee. That's what I do first thing. But I do have tea often in the evening as well, and it's getting to that time here when we will be able to sit on the front porch watching the sun go down behind the mountains as we do so.
