Nothing better than getting together with friends and relaxing by the lake in Adirondack Chairs! Summer is the best time around here to catch up with friends. Unfortunately now and then an unwelcome guest shows up.
Yesterday I went out to run errands and when I returned this is what the screen looked like on my window over the sink.....
I followed a trail of knocked over items from the window sill and found my package of rolls for dinner....
Not a doubt we had had a visitor.....the furry kind with a long gray tail! So I took my 8 pound 16 year old poodle (who is deaf and mostly blind) and commanded her to search the house. That didn't work out as planned so I searched - shaking curtains, flipping furniture - no luck. I hoped that meant Mr. Squirrel left the building with his takeout.
I headed to the garage to tell the Big Guy he had a screen to repair and he said the day before he chased a squirrel down from the screen. He couldn't believe it had jumped from the hydrangea bush to the house. Well that squirrel was brave enough to defy the Big Guy the next day and rip open that screen! While we were talking I noticed a squirrel come out from the hedges and head up the hydrangea bush bold as can be! We chased him away but I think I heard it laughing at the sight of two gray haired old folk charging across the lawn!
The screen has been repaired, the bush has been trimmed we are on the lookout for a fat sassy squirrel! Some guests are harder to discourage than others.....

Nothing better than some colorful Adirondack chairs to sit in while you visit either! These are so cute and I love the bright colors! Fun card, Linda. Those squirrels have actually chewed our polywood Adirondack chairs! They're awful!
ReplyDeleteThese chairs are darling, and the perfect place to "sit a spell" Linda - whether in the Adirondacks, or Upstate NY!
ReplyDeleteI have never heard of a squirrel doing this - if you're lucky, it'll turn out he's Gluten Free, and won't be back. one can hope. lol
=]
Hahahahahaha!!! That totally cracked me up! We've got a squirrel story too...only ours visited in the middle of the night and decided that he wanted to join us for a little nap in the bed! It didn't end well for the squirrel. ;)
ReplyDeleteSweet card! Love those Adirondack chairs! Perfect colors and design! :)
I love these colorful chairs and how you've used them with the sketch. As for your uninvited visitor -- that is one cheeky squirrel! It almost sounds like a scene from some cartoon movie about a big animal heist.
ReplyDeleteI love this card Linda! Those chairs are fabulous and there is nothing better than relaxing in an Adirondack chair by a lake! Love the squirrel story! Hope you don't have any other fluffy visitors!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the Squirrel story! They are bold little buggers aren't they?!
ReplyDeleteThe card is adorable! I love the bright colors of the chairs, perfectly peaceful place to sit and visit with friends.
Thank you for sharing. Donna
I love your chair card. Very summery and bright. It is almost relaxing just to see those chairs!
ReplyDeleteI have never bought any because I can't choose a color. Maybe I need to go multi-colored like your card.
You may have just spread your designing talents to the great outdoors!
I'm not sure what's the better story here - fun Adirondack chairs or a bun-stealing squirrel! I'm going with the chairs!
ReplyDeleteI would have gone for the rolls, too! Such a fun story, Linda. Love your card! Great colors and fun layout.
ReplyDeleteOh these chairs are just delightful and so colorful! Such a fun interpretation of the sketch - love this card!
