This is me.....Every Single Night.........and it all started long ago with Dick, Jane,Spot and the Bobbsey Twins.....then Nancy Drew, Trixie Belden and The Boxcar Children showed up. Ramona Quimby and her friends made me laugh and Laura Ingalls Wilder's adventures on the prairie were captivating. And that was just the beginning.....reading never gets old. Just last week I was Where the Crawdads Sing and this week I am part of The Alice Network.....can't wait to see where I go next week!
I did a total Fusion using both the photo and the sketch! I only turned the Turnabout Triangle stamp twice to get the wall pattern. Hope you join us!
Stamp Sets: Our Story (MFT), To Thine Own Shelf(SSS), Triangle Turnabout (Concord and 9th)
Ink: Crushed Curry, Smoky Slate, Basic Gray, Copics
Paper: Whisper White, Basic Gray
Sweet card! Love the colors and your little one reading her book! Great design. :)
ReplyDeleteI bet we'd have been the best of friends back in the day, too, Linda... I used to 'be sick' just to stay home with my friend Nancy!
ReplyDeleteNow I feel just as close to you via paper and ink in a different form … and this little sweetie is just adorable - as is your fun 'wallpaper!' I'm still a BIG reader [in too many ways!].

You always manage to combine both challenges with ease. This is a fun card, Linda! ♥
ReplyDeleteCute stamp set and cute card! I think we would have been vying for the same library books if we had grown up together. The Little House series was my favorite and what I compared everything to when I was young, and I also loved Nancy Drew. I read Where the Crawdads Sing last month and loved it. I thought Charlotte was annoying in The Alice Network, but liked Eve's story line. I can't go to sleep unless I've read for a while first. I wish you could be in our book club!
ReplyDeleteI really LOVE your take on the challenge, Linda! Your wall pattern is fabulous and your reading scene is just perfect! Love your color palette, too!
ReplyDeleteI wish I was a reader as a child...I really missed out, but I'm making up for it now :)
Really, really love your creative take on the sketch and the photo! I just read Where the Crawdads Sing for the second time while at the beach this past week and loved that book! My DIL recommended Educated, so think that will be next on my reading list.
ReplyDeleteMe too!! My big overstuffed chair is even gray like this one and my feet are never on the ground - always curled up under me! LOVE the pattern you put in the background - and the pop of the purple book!
ReplyDeleteThis is very cool....love how you used that turnabout set! And this is me too! I can't go to sleep at night without reading something! I am anxious to get that Crawdad book, if it ever becomes available at the library!!
