Pumpkins Aglow.....FMS404

It is Pumpkin Season around here so I decided to use this sweet trick or treater on my card today.  We went to The Great Jack-O-Lantern Blaze this past weekend in Croton-On-Hudson.....a town about three hours south of us along the Hudson River. You follow a path through amazing carved pumpkin displays on the grounds of the historic Van Cortlandt Manor.  It was a magical experience!

I was fortunate to teach in a small rural school district where the first thing the custodians did early every morning was start the coffee and water for tea in the cafeteria.  (OK in the winter first they lit the boiler then started the coffee!)  We all got to work early enough to grab a cup and chat a bit before the first bus pulled in.  It seems like such a simple thing but it was a great way to start the day and connect with other teachers and support staff.   It was amazing what could be planned, discussed, brainstormed and worked out over early morning coffee. Lifelong friendships formed as well......I still get together with friends that I met that first day over coffee way back in 1971!   



I used the photo this week as primary inspiration for my card....but turning the sketch gave me the idea to make the tray of coffee cups.  So much inspiration at Fusion - hope you join us!

Stamp Review Crew: Dino Days

The Stamp Review Crew is featuring Dino Days today. I am a CAS girl at heart but there is something about this suite that makes me want to splash bright colors everywhere!  This set has been my go for baby cards this year - such a fun change from soft pinks and blues!

In my version of Dinosaur World Momma T-Rex isn't exactly the warm and fuzzy type so I am thinking Baby T-Rex must set out on his own at an early age.   Pterodactyl is definitely the town crier....so here he is spreading the word that there is another T-Rex on the prowl!

We are already enjoying this beautiful fall season.  Emma celebrated her seventh birthday with a tropical bird themed party - fun!

Fall is fabulous where I live.......beautiful blue skies, white fluffy clouds, and gorgeous colorful trees.  So those are the colors I used on my card.  I love September and October because by November things are dark, dreary and gray until the snow comes along!

Our favorite farewell to summer event every year is the county fair.....Emma and Will had so much fun.....ok I did too......

I love the cute images in this set (On Your Feet) for get well cards!  But it looks like my poor sloth will be a while before he is on his feet again.  Since he is a sloth he probably won't mind!  I googled to find out what color a sloth was since I was imagining a gray/brown color.  I learned that sloths are brown but because they hardly move green algae grows on their fur and the result is that funny gray/brown/greenish color....ewwwww....

I promptly decided if this guy was going to be front and center on my card he was going to be power washed.....so you are seeing a freshly bathed sloth - perfect for a freshly made sketch!
