Fusion: Decor
That clean and simple photo at Fusion spoke to my clean and simple heart! And where did I get that CAS preference from? Hmmm maybe I inherited it.
The activities director at Pineview - where my mother lives - used some of my crafting supplies for an arts and crafts project this week. She made a sample bouquet and put out the punched flowers and buttons for the residents to assemble on their art board. My daughter was there to help out and said Gram absolutely refused to make a bouquet stating that it was way too messy, So here is a photo of the sample next to my mother's creation - perfectly aligned rows! She wouldn't let anyone help her because it had to be perfect!
I used the sketch for my card as well as the clean design of the photo with its neutral colors. Use what inspires you at Fusion!
Stamps: Soft Spring (SU), Simply Said Hugs (Avery Elle)
Paper: Whisper White, Smoky Slate, Basic Gray
Ink: Memento Black, Purple Posy, Pear Pizzazz, Basic Gray
Such a pretty card! Love the muted colors and design. And I like her simple rows better than the bouquet too! ;)
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet, sweet story - your CAS preference was definitely inherited!!
ReplyDeleteOh my grey-loving heart, be still! I can see that the artistic gene run in the family, Linda!
ReplyDeleteSuch a cutie, and Mom's project is darling, too! xx

I LOOOVE this card, Linda. That gray background is everything. Your card isn't as lovely, though, as Mom and her project. So in love with that!
ReplyDeleteThat photo is so sweet, Linda! She is very proud of her perfect colorful symmetry and good for her! And your card is spectacular! The grays and the texture and the dimension are just yummy!! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteLove this...so trendy with the neutrals, and I might just have to get that hugs stamp and die...love it! And I love your mom's sense of symmetry!
ReplyDeleteA woman after my own CAS heart...Bless her! Your card is gorgeous, Linda! I really love all the texture and your neutral color palette is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card. What did you use to emboss the top section? Thanks.
ReplyDeleteYour mom looks like a sweetie and her card IS perfect.
Hi Beverly.....The top is embossed with the Subtle Embossing Folder from Stampin' Up.
ReplyDeleteOh how fun to see your mom & her project--doing what she liked instead of copying the sample! Love it! Your card is beautiful--love the background texture & color scheme!
ReplyDeleteYour card is simply gorgeous and I absolutely love your momma's sweet project of fun, colorful flowers!
ReplyDeleteLove that textured neutral background Linda and the fab diecut too! Your Mum’s artwork made me smile - so precise!
ReplyDeleteI suppose you already know I'm a clean and simple addict, too. Clean and simple cards are my all-time favorite so no need to say I love your take on this Fusion Challenge! And huge congrats to your mother for her stunning clean creation! I now know where your crafty mind comes from!
