Fusion: Cake
I thought we all could use some cake....and a smile today. I live in upstate NY and we are all hanging close to home these days. I did attend a staff meeting at the library earlier this week to discuss the closing of the library for the rest of the month - or perhaps even longer. It is such a surreal situation we are all in. As I left I ran into one of our regular library patrons who was walking by. We kept our distance and chatted for a minute about the library closing. And then she left me with these words: I am almost 80 and I will be careful but I will not be afraid.......
I am so going to try to follow her example!
I love a good piece of cake so I went with the cake theme and the sketch this week at Fusion. Hope you join us!
Stamps: Celebrate With Cake, Funny Bones (Riley & Co)
Ink: Coastal Cabana, Mango Melody, Grapefruit Grove, Pretty Peacock
Paper: Whisper White, Dino Days DSP, Follow Your Art DSP
Ha! Yep, right there with you on how I like my eggs! :) So sad that everything is closing...sure hope that this mess is behind us soon!
ReplyDeleteThat brings a smile for sure. So cute! Stay healthy!
ReplyDeleteHey! That's just the way I like my eggs!!! So very cute, Linda!
ReplyDeleteNow, about that conversation with the 80 y.o. lady... you did remind her that you're 93, right? LOL We can DO this, my friend … and your sense of humor gets me through many a dark day! xoxo

Love this card. Love this post. Our local library and neighboring library are also closed -- so sad .
ReplyDeleteGreat wisdom from your library patron. One we should all follow (from a distance?).
Stay well.
This card made me smile. My cousin had her pre-school grandson visiting (now a teenager) and raisins were an acceptable snack. She had the little boxes, or he could have some in a dish. When he woke up from his nap and asked for raisins, she asked him how he wanted them. "In a cookie, please." Out of the mouths of babes!
ReplyDeleteI enjoy your cards and your shared stories. Something to look forward to when 'hunkering down' in upstate NY.
Great job combining the sketch and theme, Linda! LOVE your fabulous sentiment, too :)
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you are coping so well...I will also try to be brave, even though it's not easy ~ Stay well and healthy!
Such fun! You always do such a great job of connecting the sketch with the theme photo. I love that. This card is such a joy!
ReplyDeleteYour card made me chuckle and we sure need some levity these days! How ironic that you used the world surreal, but that is the exact word I used just this morning as I was texting with my SIL in another state!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the smile - and the inspiration from the 80 year old!
