Fusion: Cloth Bunnies

 

I am looking forward to April and bunnies and green grass and Easter eggs.......especially the malted milk ones covered in speckles!  No Peeps in this house!

I combined the sketch and the photo for my Fusion card today.  Perfect challenge for this time of year! Hope you join us!

I am ready for April showers and rainbows so this bright paper was calling my name! I used one of the rainbow die cuts to make the fancy edge and was delighted that it perfectly aligned with the stripes on the designer paper.  I love this happy paper!

Not quite strawberry season here but the rows of strawberries worked perfectly for the sketch so I had to use them.  I am more than ready for warmer temperatures and everything turning green again!

We celebrate St. Patrick's Day at our house because it is also the Big Guy's birthday!  We also celebrate it as the end of winter and beginning of spring around here.  Even if it snows on his birthday it doesn't last long at this stage.  But tomorrow's forecast looks like a perfect early spring day - the snow is melting and the mud is appearing!

I love to combine both the sketch and the photo for our Fusion challenges but in honor of the day I had to make a St. Patrick's Day card. I loved using this designer paper with a soft green and pink - a fun change from bold green and orange.  I stamped some shamrocks on the DSP and embossed them in gold for added sparkle. A bit of gold cord adds to the shine - just hard to see in the photo!

Welcoming Flowers - FMS 527

I was thinking spring this week so I decided it was time for some flowers.  But then we had just one more snowfall and the world is white again.  That must have inspired the bright white background!

Dog Tales.....FMS526

 

We have always been a dog family and over the years there have been so many - each one with their own personality!  My daughter presently has two Havanese pups.  One is very shy but the smaller one is noisy and oh so brassy.  Erin shared this story on Facebook yesterday about Benny - the little one who is fearless.  It made me laugh out loud - enjoy!

I keep a cup of water on my nightstand … and often have a drink at some point in the night.

Just now, as I’m trying to fall asleep, Benny walks across the top of my pillow, leans over and takes a nice, long drink from said cup. It must’ve been especially tasty tonight, as it had ice and a lemon slice too.

I’m a little stunned at how nonchalantly he just did this … so my question now is, how many years have I been unknowingly sharing my bedside drinks with the dog? Ugh!

I deepened the blue in the challenge and added some yellow to create my card in the colors of the Ukraine.  It's only one small card but the multitude of cards that have been created in these colors help to send a message to the people of the Ukraine that the world is watching and sending love and support.

This card is headed to my favorite cousin.  We grew up next door to each other in a small village and saw each other almost every day.  We played outside as much as we could and one of our favorite things to do was swing - especially on a big old tire swing my dad hung from a tree in our side yard.  It was a simple carefree time in our lives for sure.........I am grateful for those days!
