Behind the Scenes - FMS 37

Ever wonder what goes on behind the scenes on a challenge site like Freshly Made Sketches? It takes a lot of organization and e-mails to keep things going! There are time zones to contend with, sketches to design, posts to write and deadlines to meet.  Oh and then we all have "real life" going on as well.  Lesley keeps us on track - in spite of the craziness and everyone helps out.  We have a design team blog where we post our cards, our picks, our text and somehow magically everything appears as scheduled on the FMS site.  Notice I say magically because as the Senior Citizen of the group I am not assigned  major computer tasks - I have Lesley and Jen on speed dial for all of my computer issues.  (Remember I am the gal who shut off the main computer system in the library with her earring!)  Keeping the baby blog hop a secret from Rita was not easy but Lesley had a plan!  We all designed a decoy card to post on our DT site so Rita would see them when she added hers.  Then Lesley snuck in very late at night, took out the decoys and posted the Blog Hop list. I love it when a plan all comes together!  Just thought you might like to see my decoy card - so glad we were able to surprise Rita!

  1. Linda, I love your little trip behind the scenes....and I do not think you are any more a senior citizen than I am!!! Although I am intrigued by the computer/earring story, although you may have told me before and I don't remember....well, okay, maybe I am a senior citizen! Anyhoo, this is a LOVELY card. I wanted that set and never got it and look how cute it is! TFS!

  3. Linda I LOVE your decoy card. LOVE love that dsp!!! What a cute card for some summer event... right?
I have NO techy skills so I totally relate and I don't know what I've done without my sweet upline Nance Leedy. She is the only reason I even have a blog, and I can post, but she still helps load the new catties and remove the old. You gals just amaze me.... especially when your on more than ONE DT!

    Hugs.

  4. You make it all sound so fun, but I was actually a little afraid that I would mess up and accidentally post the baby card to the DT blog! Luckily I didn't lose my head and blow the whole secret!

After reading your post and the two Jens comments, we must've all been thinking the same ... how to surprise without letting the surprise out of the bag!!!
Love this card Linda ... this DSP is so pretty and I love your sweet accents too!

  8. I love hearing the behind-the-scenes account. Being new to blogging and challenges, I had no idea what you all do, but knew it can't be easy! Technical I am not, I just figured out how to get your blog to come to my email!! Love your cards, Linda, and this one is no exception! Fresh summery colors and I love the little flowers with their pearls!

  10. Linda, this is an adorable card. Very cute and it sounds like you all work so well as a team, and you can't ask for more than that. But... I have not heard your earring story. It made me laugh, even though I don't know what happened, so my imagination is taking over. :-) I too am a Senior Citizen, and I find I'm starting to do little funny things that make me wonder. But, it's all in fun, so don't worry! Laughter is great medicine! :-) Thanks for sharing!

  13. Linda called up to my office one day and said her computer at the adult circulation desk turned off and she couldn't get it to work again. Turns out her heavy clip-on earring fell off, hit the on/off switch of the surge suppressor and turned everything off. Not the first time she has done something like that! LOL Love my Library Linda.
