That cute little diecut thx fit perfectly in my lettered leaf! And I am happy to report that thx to me Emma is saying her first word! And it is not Mama or Dada or Grandma.....darn! First let me explain that we are a dog family and with my own dog and "grand dogs" there is always a dog or two or three here. We go outside - a lot! I take Emma out first and fasten her in the stroller. Then I open the back door, grab the leash(es) off the hook and holler "C'mon Abby (or Baxter or Adi or Silas) let's go - c'mon!" As I grabbed a leash earlier this week I heard a little voice behind me say "C'mon, c'mon!" Of course we had to have several re-enactments during the day to show off her new vocabulary! So the dogs win - Mama, Dada and Grandma will have to be patient a while longer!
Her father is now working hard to get her to say "C'mon man!" Those of you who watch Sports Center on ESPN know what I am talking about!
Allissa has things all squared away for us this week at Freshly Made Sketches!
Your card is gorgeous. Love the words on the leaf. Now the picture is priceless!
ReplyDeleteLOL Love the first word story! Laila is now mimicking everything we say so we have to be a bit more careful. ;) LOVE the leaf! Love the little bow and rounded squares too.
ReplyDeleteThis story about Emma and her first word definitely deserves to be scrapbooked for posterity! Great story Linda and lovely card!
ReplyDeleteYeah! A maple leaf :) Great take on the sketch. Such a precious picture of your grandchild too! Love those chubby little baby legs :)
ReplyDeleteLove the card, Linda! The thx inside the leaf and the baker's twine bow through the button are such sweet details. And, speaking of sweet, thanks for the Emma update! She is a love!

ReplyDeleteI was totally distracted by the story and nearly forgot to admire your lovely card! Thx for sharing and you did an awesome job fussy cutting that leaf!
ReplyDeleteThat is such a sweet picture of Emma and her buddy. Next is to get her to walk the dogs! I now pay my grandson to keep ours (which used to be his)! I love the card too. The rounded corners look terrific and it's so crisp and clean!
ReplyDeleteLove this card Linda! Love the rounded edges! I love that leaf! I wish it were fall year round! Emma is so cute! Caleb's first word was Uh-oh....apparently I say (or said that) a lot!!!
ReplyDeleteLiving in a houseful of men and boys, they would be thrilled to hear that your little granddaughter is saying "c'mon" with the possibility of "c'mon man" in the future!!!
ReplyDeleteI love your card. That thx shows off perfectly on the leaf!!
Awesome card! The colors are amazing!
ReplyDeleteYour grandchild is precious!!!
Great card, love the leaf. Emma's first word cracks me up. Little ears pick up everything even when you aren't trying to get her to say something. That is so cute.
ReplyDeleteLove this card, Linda. Pretty colors and so contemporary with the "thx". Now, on to the cuteness.... I love Emma's first word! Believe it or not, that's one of the first things that my two parrots picked up on, too! My daughter's first word was "pretty", with each syllable clearly emphasized!
ReplyDeleteSuch a Fun card. So interesting and creative. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect stamping job on that leaf, Miss Linda! the design is great with the rounded corners. That pic of Emma and the dog must be in a frame somewhere in your home- it is beautiful;)
