This little elephant image is so sweet that I decided to stamp it more than once! The plan is to make a blue version of this card as well. I vowed earlier this year to make at least two of every card I design for my blog but I am not doing so well in that department. I am such a one and done kind of gal - why do I dislike making multiple cards? I am curious about what you do. If you blog or make your own cards do you stop at one or make a batch?
Now for the elephant story.....you knew there would be one......
I grew up in a small town and our back yard bordered the school grounds. Our local fire department sponsored a circus one year and it pulled into town late one night. We were already sleeping when the circus set up camp on the playground. A lone elephant was tethered at the edge of the grounds. In the middle of the night I heard my father yelling that there was an elephant loose in our backyard.......followed by his raging into the yard (in his boxer shorts!) after that elephant who was trampling bushes and our burning barrel. The handler eventually got the elephant secure but not before it dropped a few more surprises ;) We got free tickets to the circus the next day.......my father chose not to go.......

Linda I love everything about this card. I love the little elephant X3, Love the pink/grey, love the doily as a background accent and LOVE those ears! How cute is that! I might have to CASE this one... but I need a elephant stamp first!

ReplyDeleteI used to make multiple cards when I supplied cards for sale in a few stores. Kept them on the easier side and did about ten of each. Not nearly as much fun as the one offs!

ReplyDeleteThis card is so cute. What a fun story to remember from childhood. Can't blame dad for not going! I made several cards once when I made one that I truly loved. Sent each of my girlfriends one for their birthdays! Otherwise I just make one of each except for Christmas. I'm not creative enough to make all different ones!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness....it's a wonder your father didn't drop a few surprises...or at least a few choice words, after seeing an elephant in his yard! Yikes! Well, the card is ADORABLE....love it! And I am a one and done kinda gal, too....I should make duplicates but I am usually rarin' to go to the next challenge!

ReplyDeleteI have a hard time making more than one card at a time, the exception being Christmas cards where I have to mass produce or I'd be at it 24/7 for a month! But if I really like a design I might replicate at a later date. I would certainly make another one of these if I were you - it is so charming!

I almost never make two of anything! If there's a card I love enough to think I want to duplicate, I just hoard it instead and take it out every so often and gaze upon it fondly.
ReplyDeleteThis is adorable. I'm was never particularly enamored of elephants but I would love to have seen one roaming around the yard! And even better if I could have seen my father chasing it in his skivvies!

ReplyDeleteLove those floppy ears! The doily is a great backdrop for the cuties. I am a one and done, too. And, when someone asks me to make a card- for some reason, instead of recreating one I have made before, I put the pressure on myself to create a brand new design.

I'm pretty sure not too many people in the US can say they've had an elephant trample through their backyard!!!!
