My mother turned 92 this week - amazing! She is very forgetful but is still always up for a good outing especially when it involves Emma and fish and chips. So we took her to her favorite fish place for a birthday luncheon.
We only put two candles on the cake for 92 so of course there was a lot of negotiation about who was blowing out which candle..........these two never stop when they are together.....
.
My mother is often asked what her secret is for a long life. She always says never take medicine, eat a bacon sandwich for breakfast every day and stop smoking. It has worked for her.....she takes no medicine, eats a lot of bacon and smoked for over 50 years before she quit in her 70's! So I am not sure if the AMA would give her advice the stamp of approval!
My talented friend Jen Timko has a great sketch for us this week at Freshly Made Sketches! My card today showcases a new set from Stampin Up! called Bike Ride and some of the new in colors: Lemon Lime Twist, Fresh Fig and Tranquil Tide.
Stamp Sets: Bike Ride (SU), Ribbit Ribbit (Avery Elle), Well Scripted Hello (Wplus9)
Paper: Very Vanilla, Eastern Palace DSP
Ink: Lemon Lime Twist, Fresh Fig, Tranquil Tide, Crumb Cake
How cute is that little bike?? Love the colors that you used and your DSP background is perfect. Hmmm....lot of bacon and no medication sounds like an awesome plan to me!! :)
ReplyDeleteLove these bright colors, Linda! Makes it feel like the perfect day for a bike ride. The back of that bike is adorable with its basket of flowers. Pretty scripty "hello" too. Love the relationship Emma and your mom have, so special!

ReplyDeleteMy Mom is 95 and on a ton of medicines. So glad for your mother. She may be on to something. Who knows for sure!! Your use of color on this card is outstanding...and I wasn't a fan of those colors originally. Guess a woman can change her mind...lol

And since you're in the my favorite part of the world ,what's your favorite fish and chip place ? ReplyDeleteLinda, I would never have thought to stamp the bike like it! Wow, it's such a fun idea. I don't care for pork, so no bacon except turkey bacon once in a while.
