Color Challenge(d)..........

When I was 10, I begged my father to paint my room purple.  He agreed and I picked an ancestor of Orchid Opulence for sure.  After about a week of trying to sleep surrounded by such opulence I begged for a new color.  Again he agreed (what a guy!) and we picked a soft buttery yellow - perfect!  I am just not a purple kind of gal so when I saw this week's PPA challenge to use purple I thought "Well that's definitely a challenge for me!"  But Concord Crush saved the day - finally a purple I can live with!  Playful Pieces and Afterthoughts helped me create this birthday card following the sketch at Stamping411 this week.  And there might be just a bit of buttery yellow in there - perfect!

Linda, you might not be a "purple" kind of gal - but this card is perfect. I love the boxes surrounding the cake and the use of the scallop punch on top of the cake. WOW... so creative. I love it!
thanks for sharing - and for the story

A-ha!! I got the Playful Pieces set in my last order, although it wasn't really my fave, but I just knew someone would come up with a fabulous card that would make me wish I had gotten it...that is YOU!! SO glad I got that set now :)

Great card, Linda! I've never been a purple kind of person, but I think I just may have to give it a try. If you can do it... LOVE the scallop trim border and bling on top of the cake!

I think of Harold and the Purple Crayon when I think "purple." This card is clever and beautiful. Adore how you created the "cake" with the scallop trim punch. Brilliant. Hugs, M

How funny! When I was little, I always loved purple and wanted a purple room. I never got it. In fact, when given the choice, I had a yellow room and then an orange room--oh those 70's! Anyway, you did a fanTAStic job of purpling it up!
