Stamp Review Crew: Buffalo Check

The Stamp Review Crew is featuring the Buffalo Check background stamp today.  I stamped it in Granny Apple Green to look like an old fashioned oilcloth table cover - the perfect backdrop for country jars and flowers.

I may have been inspired by a country wedding I went to last week.  This could be the cutest ring bearer ever!

If you missed Stesha's wonderful work head back there to check it out!

Betty Traciak is up next!  Her work is always wonderful!

I used the sketch at Cas(e) this Sketch for my design.

Fall Color.....FMS356

Fall is my favorite season so I couldn't resist covering the three panels with leaves.  Our leaves are just starting to turn here. You can see a tiny bit of color starting on some trees in this drone photo.  The lake level has been dropped in preparation for the ice and snow to come. Our camp is right in the middle of this picture hidden in a cluster of trees.  I never knew we were surrounded by so many trees!

So many possibilities with Jen Brum's terrific sketch this week!  Join us at Freshly Made Sketches!

Oh Those Critters....FMS355

These little critters are adorable all dressed up for Halloween. And that frog print DSP makes me smile! Hard to tell in the picture but that black paper is glossy and is a great accent!

Speaking of critters I thought you might like a squirrel update.  He has danced merrily around our Have a Heart trap for over two weeks.  Almost every day at breakfast he has launched himself from the hydrangea bush to our now ragged kitchen screen. He would peer through the closed window until I yelled shoo and banged on the glass.  Then back into the hydrangea bush he would go.......until a few days ago.  The Big Guy found him unresponsive on our lawn while our neighbor's three cats watched innocently from the driveway......not accusing them......just making an observation......

Of course squirrels tend to all look alike so it may not be him......but I have had no morning visits since then.  He drove us crazy......so why do I miss that cheeky little fellow?

I love Kim's sketch this week......so many possibilities~! Join us at Freshly Made Sketches!

Stamp Review Crew: Country Home

The Stamp Review Crew is featuring Country Home this week.  So much down home goodness in this beautiful suite of products!  I love the tin tile embossing folder too.  Our very first house had an original tin ceiling in the kitchen that I adored!  I'm definitely a country girl at heart.  Today we bought apples, donuts and a pie at the orchard then stopped at a local farm stand for fresh eggs and sweet corn - my kind of shopping!  And checking out all of the country goodness from the Stamp Review Crew is my kind of hopping!

If you are on track you just came from seeing Tanya's wonderful creations!

Next up is Charlet Mallett!  Enjoy!

Fusion: Citrus

With a bit of luck and a few Indian summer days headed this way I just may be able to squeeze in a couple more afternoons at the lake this week.  I always plan to sit in a beach chair, sip something fun and read the afternoon away........never happens.....

My last day at the lake involved:

~a nerf gun battle
~hauling wood for the campfire
~setting up and running (I use the word running loosely) an obstacle course with Emma
~counting and wrapping a zillion pennies from Emma's collection of piggy banks
~keeping four dogs from rolling in a dead fish (ok I only kept three away.....the littlest snuck by us, had a grand time and then needed a bath)
~visiting with the neighbors and their brand new baby....

And then it was time to peel the corn and start the barbecue for dinner.  By the time I got back to that beach chair the mosquitoes were out so we called it a day........but I wouldn't change a minute of it...

Such wonderful inspiration at Fusion this week!  Use the sketch or the picture or both!

Best of All....FMS354

We end summer here with the annual ring of fire at the lake.  The night was gorgeous - the fireworks were everywhere - and the bonfires glowed all around the lake.

Then we kicked off fall with Emma's Monster Truck birthday party.  The skirt of her dress has all monster trucks on it!

A big truck came to visit and the kids loved it!  They also had their own road course to drive on.

It was quite the event!  But the best part was when Emma's Uncle Mikey and Auntie Ria arrived and shared the news to the rest of the family that Emma will be getting a new cousin!  We are all excited - especially this grandma who will be so happy to welcome a new grandson in January!

I am also excited to be hosting this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Have fun with my sketch!  I love to see how everyone interprets sketches in their own way - I'll be visiting galleries!  Hope you play along!

Always an Adventure......FMS353

This late summer heat wave has me thinking about snow already! So I am showing off that beautiful Joyous Noel Designer Paper and Alpine Adventure stamp set from the new SU! Holiday Catalog that goes live today!

We never seem to lack for adventure in our family.  Erin's dogs Cooper (top pup) and Benny (bottom pup) are professional adventurers at the tender age of one. You never quite know what they will do next.......

I will leave you with Erin's recent Facebook post about Benny's adventure......

Emma and I ordered pizza for dinner ... I put the pizza on the counter and grabbed the leashes to take the dogs outside before we ate. BUT I couldn't find Bentley ... we looked all over the house ... all his usual hiding spots ... but no Ben.
During the search, the doorbell rang. It was the pizza guy ... who had found a small dog riding in his car after he pulled out of our driveway. Yes, Bentley. He handed him over and said, "cute dog". Sigh.

It's hip to be square this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Join us and have fun with Jen Mitchell's cool sketch!

Stamp Review Crew: Waterfront

I have used Waterfront several times to make mountain and lake scenes so I decided to go tropical today.  Such a versatile set!  Perhaps the late summer heat wave was my inspiration.  We spent the last week of August trying to fit in as much fun as possible before the school routine starts.  My favorite day was spent at the county fair - junk food, rides, animals and entertainment - what's not to love?

If you missed Debra Burgin's wonderful work head on back.

Otherwise your next stop is Tanya Boser!  Tanya is an amazing artist and the leader of our group.  Special thanks to her for all of her hard work to keep the Review Crew going!

I used the FabFriday sketch for my design.
