'Tis A Gift to Be Simple

There's a sweet sketch and a lot of inspiration from the DT at Connie and Mary's this week so I decided to play along.  In case you haven't noticed I am a Plain Jane kind of gal - much to my mother's dismay. You can't imagine the two of us clothes shopping together.  Let's just say that at 86 she still rocks the leopard print and bling.  Anyway I set out to make a sweet simple card - with no leopard print or blatant bling.  I thought I did just that and then I decided to write out everything I used.  Here's my list:

dotto, snail, vario dots, glue dot, stampin' dimensional, scotch tape, paper cutter,Simply Scored, bone folder, ribbon scissors, paper snips, color spritzer, Marina Mist marker, Marina Mist ink pad, Marina Mist paper, Real Red paper, Whisper White paper, Whisper White taffeta ribbon, rhinestone, Itty Bitty Heart Punch, Itty Bitty Heart Button, Baker's Twine, Scal loped Edgelit, Pinking Hearts Border Punch, Hearts Framelit, snowflake stamp from Dear Santa, sentiment stamp from Merry Winter

Simple isn't as simple as it looks!

Love your card Linda. The adorable hearts, border, sentiment and the simplicity of the card, but my favorite is your commentary on your cards, I can almost visualize your shopping excursions, too funny! H'mm I wonder if my daughter feels the same way?

Linda love your CAS card. I think most mom/daughter shopping sprees have opposite opinions... at least in my world of friends and family. Hugs.

Great card Linda! This challenge does look tricky but you chose great colors and stamps. I love the saying in the heart and the bitty button too. Cheers!

Linda this card is fantastic, you certainly rocked the sketch. I had to totally chuckle when I read your comment about you and your mom shopping. Having an almost teenaged daughter myself I am already starting to experience the dreaded mother daughter shopping, lol. Her and I definitely do not see eye to eye most times:)

Gorgeous, Linda! I had to chuckle at your supply list...sometimes "simple" needs a supporting cast. Lol! Everything about your card is beautiful! I especially love that bitty heart adorned with baker's twine! Hope you had a wonderful weekend! Hugs! :)

I love your card Linda. I like how you layered the "bordered" layers. I'm with you on the plain Jane. The little heart is just enough bling! Thanks for playing with us this week at CCMC!

You're right Linda: simple isn't as simple as it looks! It can be downright time consuming to do sometimes. ;)

I am glad you persevered...the snowflake Valentine is so sweet! That sentiment makes me smile.

And when all is said and done you've got a card that cost about $300 to make! But I still love it!

LOL! I'm sure my Mom thought the same thing about me, "all that black!"...she's always been able to rock the leopard and bling way better than me! Always love your posts, Linda. Your card is fabulous....even without the leopard! ((hugs))
