A Basic Shade of Gray........FMS87

I love the pop of the Calypso Coral against Basic Gray.  Reminds me of my hair these days. After about 10 years of covering the gray I have decided enough is enough - I am going gray!  Letting your hair grow out is not for the faint of heart.  Twelve weeks into this and my brown hair has faded to a unique shade of orange layered over a backdrop of gray.  Oh so attractive!  And so far not much support from friends and family either.  My 88 year old mother has firmly stated she does not want to be the mother of a gray haired woman and my husband asks weekly when I am going to color my hair ...........hmmmm they are both gray.........but I am going to hang tough.....wish me luck!

JenTimko has a wonderful sketch for us this week at Freshly Made Sketches!

This is beautiful, Linda. I've passed over that paper a couple of times - guess I couldn't see it broken down into a card size. :) Love it here. Love the sentiment stamped directly on the paper, too.

Oh, I have wondered what to do with this particular pattern in the DSP pack! You've created a beauty! I am with you on the gray hair....letting it grow out is NOT for the faint of heart, and my DH is adamant that it stay NOT GRAY. You are a brave woman, my friend!

Your hair is NOT orange. It is Honey Blonde 273!

Keep the courge.

Creating a card based on the "highlights" of your hair? LOL I'm so jealous of your creativity! LOVE your card. How did you do those "rows" of flowers? Is it masking? Love it!!

Linda this card is FANTASTIC!!!! Love the pop of coral and the DSP is FAB! Now I have to buy that too.
You are brave girl... I have been totally gray since early 20's, but have always colored it. When people see how WHITE I actually am they always say... "oh you should go natural" but I'm scared!!!!! Good for you... hugs.

Linda, I just love this card...very very nice. I love the pop of Calypso in it. And I have to tell you, you are one brave woman! I've been coloring my hair for years; it's in great condition, but when I take too long to touch it up, I see ALL gray at the roots. I just can't bring myself to let it go. My husband says to do it: I told him men look distinguished with gray..I would not. I envy your perservereance... good luck! I'm sure you will look great once it's all "in". Hugs!

Ms Linda,
I love your cards. I never colored mine and am just about 70. I have many shades in my brown hair/gray/ reddish etc. But what good is having perfect hair if the rest of the body looks old? I am what I am. Just grateful I'm not bald. It has thinned but still okay.

You go girl! Embrace the gray (she says as she contemplates coloring her own gray hair)!

Oh, and that's a beautiful colorful card!

Beautiful card! I love it! As far as the growing your hair out goes, it might be better to cut cut it at this point! I will stay tuned for photos.

Beautiful card Linda! I love those Calypso flowers! They look amazing! Very pretty! You've only been covering grey for 10 years? I've already been covering my grey for 7 years and I'm not even 40 yet!!! You're doing well!!!!! Do what feels best!!!

Love the card - do we still have that swirly Sizzlit? Anyway, on the gray, I am totally gray/white and have been for years, and finally, after many, many years of coloring, my sister went natural to gray and looks younger than she did when coloring! So good for you - stick to your guns.

OHHH! PRETTY! I love those flowers--- love the brad centers!

I love the story about your hair-- esp. since your husband and mom both are gray but talk to you about your hair! Gotta love family:) <3 I actually have gray hair near my face-- lots of it! I'm only 31.... eh. :)

Awesome card Linda! I love the red flowers! My gray is just starting to come in. Since I'm blonde, it's a little harder to see but I'm hoping for a pretty gray.

Your card is so beautiful, Linda! I love the floral fusion flowers with that DSP and the colors are fabulous. And I'm so proud of you for embracing your natural beauty. I know the 'in between' stage is very difficult, but when it's all one color again, you'll be so glad you made the decision!

These flowers are so perfect with this background!! Love this as usual! Stay the course, my friend. You'll only know once you get it all grown out...color is always an option later but I bet you'll be happy letting it stay natural.

Why do I keep submitting orders without that Floral Fusion die? Dang! You and Amy both make it rock this week with your cards! Hang in there on the hair; I'm letting my highlights grow out and I'm 1/3 blonde and 2/3 brunette. ;)

Oh this is fabulous, Linda! Love how the shape of the flowers mimics the doily patterns in the paper and those colors are fantastic. You're fabulous no matter what color hair you end up with!! ((hugs))
