Celebrating!.......PP323

December is crazy enough but when you add in several family/friend birthdays you must organize on a whole new level!  And since I too have a birthday close to Christmas I know it is important to send cards that look nothing like the holidays and to make sure gifts are not wrapped in any sort of Christmas colors!  So I made a few of these cards in bright birthday colors using a soon to be released set from SU called Balloon Adventures and Party Animal DSP.

Thank you for so many kind words and well wishes as I continue to recover from pneumonia.  I have been watching The Crown on Netflix to keep me occupied and sneaking in some on-line holiday shopping as well!

But I did make it to my daughter's for a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner.
Miss Emma had been busy working on favors and name cards!

Her Momma set a lovely table!

Her Daddy wrestled the turkey into the fryer.

And I brought "crackers" because Gram likes to wear a crown!

Sandy has a great sketch for us this week at the Paper Players!  Hope you join us~

Love the bright, festive colors and the celebratory balloons, which are always perfect for a birthday at any time of the year. Glad to see you were feeling up for going out for Thanksgiving. Did you like The Crown? I watched it while I was recovering from my surgery a couple of weeks ago. After binge watching it, I think I dreamed with a British accent. :)

You're right about making different birthday cards in birthday colors, Linda! We have several Dec. birthdays too and I try to keep them separate than Christmas. I love this card with its bright colors and fun DSP…I may copy your idea! :) I hope you're beginning to feel better. It looks like your crafting gene is showing up in Emma!!

Both my kids are within a week of Christmas - so I totally understand the need to be totally different for a birthday. I hadn't seen the paper yet - it's a must-have, particularly after seeing how you've done the coordinating balloons!

It's so nice to see a bright and cheerful birthday card at this time of year when we all seem to be frantically making Christmas cards :) I'm glad you're starting to feel a bit better - or at least well enough to do some online shopping!

Such a happy card and fabulous take on the sketch, Linda! I love your placement of the balloons, for some reason I always struggle with that. Thanks for sharing the Thanksgiving photos of your sweet family, and I hope you are feeling better soon!

Great birthday card, Linda. That is great looking DSP in the background too. Your family sounds like mine. I have 6 birthdays that are Christmas week that I usually make cards for, and then my sister is the week before Christmas. Every year it seems challenging, but I really try to make the birthday cards look like birthday and completely different than holiday cards. It's my own making though. I'm glad you're feeling better.

I love this bright, fun balloon birthday card Linda - and definitely not at all Christmassy! I always feel for those with birthdays close to Christmas and try to make an extra special effort to make them feel anything but festive! So glad you had an enjoyable Thanksgiving and I hope you are now on the mend following your bout of pneumonia.
