Fusion: Pumpkin Mug

Fall seems to last only a moment around here so I do make sure I enjoy every beautiful colorful moment! It is time to shuffle through those leaves and gather up the pumpkins!

I loved the pop of blue in the photo so I made sure to add it to my cup!

I rotated the sketch and also used the photo as inspiration for my card today!  Use whatever inspires you at Fusion!  Can't wait to see what you create!

It's Halloween....Almost...FMS507

Don't you just love that green witch my son made a million years ago in elementary school?  I drag her out every year.  She may be a little beat up but that just adds to the witchiness - somehow I totally get that!

Judy's sketch was perfect for my Halloween scene!  Make your own scene and join us at Freshly Made Sketches!

Layers of Lovely Library Books!

This was totally me when I was growing up......lots of lovely library books lying everywhere!  I couldn't read them fast enough.  I grew up in a very small village with no library but our neighboring village had one. Trouble was you had to go down a big hill, cross a railroad bridge and then a river bridge to get there. My parents forbid me to ride my bike to that library. Not gonna lie.....my friends and I snuck down there more than once to replenish our lot of library books! When you need a book to read it is impossible to wait for your mom or dad to get home from work!

When I saw this Tall Tale set from Altenew I had to get it to make a card for my cousin who was often an accomplice in those clandestine bicycle journeys to the library!  It also worked perfectly for their challenge to create a card using a technique that begins with the first letter of your name.  Since my name begins with L I chose Layering.  Lots of lovely layering of cardstock, embossing, books and colors!

Hey, Boo! FMS506

I spent this past weekend catching as many stamping classes and demonstrations as I could in celebration of World Cardmaking Day.  My craft room looked like the aftermath of New Year's Eve in Times Square!  Paper bits everywhere and more than one water bottle/soda can/tea cup perched here and there.

A class taught by Cathy Zielske featured paper piecing as a technique.  It is easy to do and I often forget about it.  It just requires a bit of patience - and a good die cut!

I broke out the Halloween colors and decorated the spider web for the season!

I loved Amy's fabulous sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Have fun with it - I did!
