Farewell Retiring Colors!

Welcome to the Stampin' Pretty Pals June hop! We're bidding a "Fond Farewell" to the retiring colors of Stampin' Up!'s Color Renovation. If you've hopped over from Regina's blog, you are on the right path.  Should you hop off course, simply click on any of the links in the Pals Hop Line-up below and you'll be back on track.

I took a basic decorating class once from a wonderful lady who taught us to never buy something because we thought it would "match." She said always buy what you love and everything will come together.  When I spread out SU's retiring colors to prepare for this hop, I thought of Ruth's advice and decided to pick my favorite three colors:  Barely Banana, Almost Amethyst and Cameo Coral.  I put them together following the Stamping411 sketch and it worked! Sound advice 30 years later!

The Pals have blog candy at every stop. Visit all 17 Stampin' Pretty Pals, answer a specific posted question and you'll have 17 chances to WIN some great Stampin' Up! goodies!

I am offering a pack of Orchid Opulence along with 20 co-ordinating 6x6 sheets of Shades of Spring DSP.  There is also a Cameo Coral ink pad, 4 Groovy Guava notes with envelopes, 6 copper edged metal tags and a roll of Chocolate Chip Alpine Ribbon. Simply leave me a comment and answer this question by 3pm (CST), Friday, June 11th:

What's your stamping style? Quick and easy? Lots of layers and embellishments? Vintage with distressing? Crisp and clean?

My answer would be "Quisp" - quick and crisp!

I will post the winner Sunday, June 13th.  You will have 48 hours to get back to me - US shipping only.

Off you go to the next stop, Anne Eicher - so glad you hopped by!

I love crisp & clean cards. They're simple but so pretty. I have to admit I do love embellishments...maybe I'm a crell? ;-)

Most of the time I'd say I'm crisp and clean. I do like the vintage look every now and then!!

kshuffler said...

Quick and Easy. But I have noticed the more I stamp the more important it is to layer.

Rosemary Reagan said...

I love to distress the edges and usually a little layering. I have the stamp you used but I haven't used it yet and seeing your card really gave me some ideas. I love your card, love the colors & how you arranged it. Thanks for sharing!

Janine said...

II am normally happier with my card if it has lots of layers and embellishments. I have tried a few crisp and clean cards but never seem to be happy with the end result. I love your blog and visit it often. I appreciate all the comments you have left for me on my creations. Thanks for the chance to win some blog candy.

Love the "Quisp" word you made. Will it be published in the next dictionary addition? I am a quick & easy doer most of the time.

Pretty card, I wouldn't have put those colors together, but they totally work! I love simple and clean cards, they are quick and easy and cute, but I make alot of vintage ones, too.

thanks for sharing

Simple. I tend to follow my stamping mentor.

I am usually a "quick and easy" card girl...but if I do a challenge...I go for fancy and all out layering and embellishing!

I am a vintage, distressing kind of gal, I just love adding lace, buttons, bows and anything else. I will try any technique once just for fun. Thanks for offering such great candy.

I like lots of layers and embellishments. But I do like clean and crisp as well as quick and easy and do them sometimes. Pretty card!

I am a layers girl! With some embellishments..not too overdone! Love your work!

Depends on my mood and how much time I have. I like the clean, crisp look. Too much on a card or page makes me crazy. Rachel Bitter

I would say that I am a "quisp" girl also. Although, when I do like the look of layers, but tend not to do too much other stuff. Great card and color combo!

Crisp and clean with some layers.

Your card is lovely!!

I have to say I would like my style to be clean and crisp, but I can't stop myself from adding layers...LOL

I try to keep it quick and easy but I'm definitely Crisp and Clean in the end. Though it's never a quick or easy process!

Mary D said...

I like quick and easy with a little bit of layers

Very cool cards. I like layers and embellishments, makes it's more personal.

rachelle said...

Definitely quick and simple would be my stamping style.

I think I'm a combo of layer and crisp and clean! I absolutely love your cards!

Thanks for the chance to win such great blog candy! I appreciate very much all the blogs I've discovered on this blog hop and look forward to looking through so many gorgeous cards.

My stamping style is simple and embossed. I generally emboss on one paper, trim it and attach it to another paper, and maybe add a bit of ribbon between the two layers. I use plain colored papers generally instead of patterned ones because they're too pretty to cut up and use!

Cheers and thanks for the opportunity!

Kari Rieck said...

I don't know that I have a main style, it really depends on my mood and who the card is for.

Thanks, awesome blog hope and site!

Although I haven't developed a distinctive style yet, I tend to like Crisp and clean with layers. However, with all the creative and inspiring demos with SU it's a great learning environment.

I have to go with lots of layering and embellishments. Bring on the bling!!!

Tanya said...

Well, I am definitely not quick or easy, lol. Takes me FOREVER, but I am still new, that's my excuse and Im sticking to it ;) I love lots of layers, and am starting to love kind of vintage and distressing, oh and sponging my distressing, so fun!

Deborah Halstead said...

I am a diverse card creator. I never know when I sit down what I will do. Sometimes I just stamp a single image and that's it and sometimes I combine several stamp sets and go crazy. Love to layer...love the punches... and I sometimes get a little carried away with the bling. Really like that open scallop you have on your card.

lorijane Mittlestadt said...

I like things crisp, straight lines, borders, etc. but when things aren't working out and I start distressing to cover up mistakes and get more "random," I am generally pleased with those results, too. Randomly balanced...is that a style?

Sandy S. said...

I LOVE lots of layers, but also like cas!

My favorite style most of the time is Crisp and clean but with some layers.

It also changes w/ my moods but I'll go w/ layers & embellishments. Thanks for the chance to win the goodies :)

Layers and embellishments for me. I like the vintage colors and look but not the tearing and distressing.

Nicole Tugrul said...

I definitly love the vintage with the distressing. I sponge EVERYTHING! But lately I have taken notice of the crisp clean and simple look..I'm going to try it out!

It depends on my mood. Sometimes, I layer like crazy, but many times, I like the clean and simple cards. I love your idea of quisp. Never heard of it before, and I love what you've done. TFS!

I'm a quick and easy girl most of the time. Depends on my mood and who the card is going to.

Carol H said...

Lots of layers and embellishments is my style with Vintage a close second..... I really mix it up just depending on the type of card and time to complete the project. Love your cards.

Heather said...

Lot's of layers and lot's of colors!

Jenny Schlagel said...

Depends on my mood. Sometimes I go all out with lots of layers and embellishments. Other times I go for crisp and clean. Also depends on what inspiration I have gotten on SU! and other blogs.

Jane Ray said...

Love it all and try not to get in a rut. I just hope the one receiving the card enjoys it as much as I did making it. keep up the good work.

Jane Ray said...

I enjoy all, guess it is the mood I am in and time.

It depends on my mood also. Overall I would say I really like layers and embellishments. Different textures are something I love also. Great cards!

I think I fall somewhere in between quick and easy and lots of layers and embellishments. I tend to become extremely fond of certain designs which become my "standard for the occasion". Thanks so much for the chance for blog candy!

Anonymous said...

I usually do multiple layers and I love that the Vintage style is coming back! Distressing is soo much fun and easy! Plus, if you mess up, who will know?

Carol said...

I like crisp and clean. I have a great deal of trouble cutting a straight edge and then distressing it. My distressing tools do not get much use.

Quick and Easy WITH layers! :D

Mary Ellen Mayer said...

Boy, I have some styles I use over and over when I need a card quickly. But I like layers, some embellishments--nothing too fussy. I like a vintage look in my stamps, but I'm not wild about the Victorian frills.
I like your group's designs--clean and elegant!! And beautiful, of course!

knolte said...

I am still working on my style. Right now it would be crisp and clean, though when I look at all the awesome blogs I get the urge to expand the limits.

Terri C said...

I would say that I like clean and crisp the best, although I do tend to change from time to to time. A lot of times it's KISS - keep it simple sweetie.
You've got good ideas. Thanks for sharing.

Julie Gearinger said...

I tend to have a more distressed style along I like clean and simple as well. I love using the Big Shot with embossing folders and can not seem to make a card without it now.

Beautiful card. So glad you picked your favorite colors and put them together and it worked out! Great job with the 411 layout!
I'll have to check out the blog hop.

Depends on time. If I have lots of time my sister and I find a card to challenge ourselves to think outside our comfort zone. If I am in a hurry I think quick and crisp.

Becky H. said...

Crisp and clean has been most of my cards and pages. I do on occasion like the vintage look with antique and shaby chic looks. Not allot of layers though. I mail many of my cards and I don't want my albums too thick.

Unknown said...

Love your cards!

As for my style--crisp and clean with a little vintage on the side!

alehrler said...

Quick and easy with lots of layers. I love the layer look, but want some easy stamping to add flair to the design.

Sarah said...

I'd say Crisp and Clean. I like modern with a dash of "cute".
