PPA112 - Lace

Meet Thank You Card #120 tied up with some lace for this week 's PPA challenge! Our library brunch is this weekend and I am happy to say that there will be a Thank You card at every place setting!  My dining room is full of items for the brunch: 120 place cards, 120 Thank You cards and 30 centerpieces of Baby's Breath and sprigs from the "Money Plant". A friend dropped off several branches of the plant and said that each of those "silver dollars" had to be peeled to reveal the pretty translucent layer inside. Then she left saying "Have fun!" So every time I walked the dog last week I would grab a branch and peel away, scattering the seeds and outer layers as I went along.  Only after I finished did my friend mention that she had a hard time finding the plant because it is considered a weed.  People work very hard to keep it out of their gardens because it takes over. Uh oh - well perhaps we won't have such a hard time finding some next year!  All I need is a pot on my head and I am a regular Johnny Appleseed!

Before the reveal!

And after!

Linda, I certainly would not mind being on the receiving end of this lovely thank you card! The linen thread on top of the lace and then around it and up thru the corduroy button adds so much interest... great detail!

Gorgeous card, Linda! Congrats on getting all those cards made! What a cool plant; funny how beautiful it is after you peel off the yucky layer. Sounds like a lot of love (and work) went into your event; hope it is fabulous!

Linda this card is gorgeous. I think French Foilage is one of my all time favs. It looks gorgeous in so many colors too. Love the touch of lace with the corduroy button... so earthy. And WoW, talk about gorgeous... those branches are spectacular! you can sprinkle those seeds in my yard any time! Hugs.

Oh, forgot to mention the money plant... let me know if the seeds do sprout in your yard. What is one man's weed is another's lovely perennial! :)

Well, the card is gorgeous---you finally got them all done, good for you! And I remember these little plants as being one of my favorites from childhood. My grandmother would get them and I was just fascinated by them. Maybe you'll have LOTS next year!!!!

Those leaves are gorgeous! How did you do the coloring in them? Is it watercolored? Also, your seed story reminded me of my son who on Tuesday was blowing dandelion seeds all over the neighbours' lawns - don't think they'll be too thrilled either ;)

Love leaf images and this card uses them fabulously. Great colour combo and looky at you with your skewed panel :) Love the story about the dollar plant. I have some in a vase in my house and don't even remember where I go them....haven't seen any anywhere around here.

this is a beautiful fall card Linda-love the colors that you used to stamp the leaves-the perfect touch with the added lace.

the money plant -it does show up in the most unusual places-my hubby has a compost pile and he used some of the dirt to plant my basil (in a container) guess what popped up along with the basil-you got it the money plant (lol)

Wow Linda! I can't believe that you made 120 of these. You are going to be asked to Chair every event in your town when people see what you did for it! Great card and the money plant story is hilarious!

I think this is my fav Celebration Thank You. Thank YOU Linda for all your hard work.

It takes a village to raise a child and it takes a kingdom to put this event together. While Linda never wants to 'be in charge' of anything, she still puts in countless hours of work, putting the beautiful, finishing touches on all aspects of it so it looks classy.

WOW! Linda, this is beautiful! I love the colors you used and how asymmetrical the composition is. I have this stamp set and now I need to pull it out and start making Thanksgiving cards!
