It's the Little Things....FMS189

It is always the little things that drive you crazy.....whether it be ants at a picnic or just a slight 2 and a half inch adjustment on your new kitchen cabinets to accommodate the refrigerator.  That slight adjustment led to a widening of the sink cabinet, a narrowing of cabinets near the fridge and just a bit of a skootch on the filler near the stove.  Just little things I thought......but as I reloaded my cabinets this week I discovered nothing fits where it used to.  The plates and the bowls have switched cupboards, a pull out spice rack occupies the spot of the former tray cabinet and the Pyrex baking dishes are living where the dish towels once were. The dish towels are stacked on the counter waiting a new room assignment.....and my poor cookie trays are still in the corner of the dining room hoping for a new spot in the kitchen.  In the meantime the big guy and I open the wrong cupboards and drawers constantly looking for things. Thanks Heaven for those new self closing hinges or we would be slamming doors left and right!  After 35 years in the old kitchen it is going to take a while..........

I used Happy Summer from SSS, a sentiment from SU's Hello Life and some die cuts with Narelle's wonderful geometric design!  Hope you join us at Freshly Made Sketches!

I love your card! Those die cuts are awesome. And your kitchen comments made me laugh right out loud...I'm doing the same thing in my new kitchen!! :)

I would have had a hard time with this sketch - but not you , Linda! Love your take on it and the way your pretty card makes me smile!
And it's so true - little things when they come in big numbers can be tricky!
Thanks for your sweet comment.

Your card is adorable! Love the ants crossing the panels. Oh my on the kitchen renos...amazing how habitual we become with things. Remember driving to my old house a few times when I was tired and going on autopilot LOL! Kitchens are even worse as you are in and out of the drawers all the time. Hang in there, the memory will catch up soon enough and hopefully the renos are worth it :)

I just love this, it's fun and whimsical and what's a picnic without the ants! :)

What an adventure that must be trying to find things every day! Sure makes life interesting! And I love this summery card. Watermelon, ants and sunshine seem to hand-in-hand this time of year!

Oh, those pesky ants! They sure are cute on your card though. I hope you get used to your new kitchen quickly.

Oh this is the most original interpretation of the sketch! You are so clever to come up with this - the ants are just too adorable! BTW, feel free to pop over any time for a stamping playdate :) Good luck getting used to your new kitchen layout - just remember a change is as good as a holiday...

FUN summer themed card-looks like the stitched edged dies are THE trend right now:)

Such a sweet card Linda! I love those watermelons, ants and of course the sun peeking out! Who doesn't love some stitched rectangles?! Such a great summer card! Can't wait to see some pics of the new kitchen! My friend is still waiting for her kitchen to be finished. She's going on two months now and is getting very frustrated!

Always enjoy your fun clever cards. Repositioning in the kitchen is HARD! It will get better.

I am a total sucker for stitching! What a fabulous way to use the sentiment alongside the ants! :)

Gosh, I sure do sympathize with your new kitchen plights. I've been in my "new house" for 17 years and still open the wrong doors to get things, and hit the garbage disposal switch instead of the light switchI can't imagine a totally new arrangement.

However, the kitchen dilemmas have not interrupted your creativity! This is a fabulous design and I love how the ants March right up from the base card onto the popped panel and that one single ant on the watermelon. I'd love to get in your head to see how you come up with these ideas!

Linda this is so adorable Love the picnic ants & watermelon. So cute. The piercing really sets off the focal piece too.
I have been there when cupboards are changed... take a while, but I can just imagine how 35 years would go!
Hugs.

Those little ants crossing the panels just make me smile! (Of course, in real life, I'd be really upset that they were ruining my picnic!)

This is such a fun design, Linda! I don't like the ants as they are my most hated enemy, but they do look cute on your card. :)
