In the Pink for Easter....FMS479

Looks like that sweet little bunny got carried away with his pink paint and splashed it everywhere!  But he finished in time to leave some eggs on the porch and that is all that matters!  We had an early Easter Egg Hunt with Will this weekend because the weather was wonderful - sunny and 60!  The next few days will be cold and rainy with a chance of a few inches of snow!  And that is spring in the great Northeast!

We gathered eggs and we dyed eggs......not sure if Will really understood what was going on but he took his duties seriously!  Cousin Emma kept him on track!

Kim has a great sketch for us this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Join us!

Making the Day Better! FMS478

My earliest memories from the fifties include waking  up to the smell of coffee!  Cups and saucers in wonderful colors were set out for every meal and gathering.  Exactly when did saucers become obsolete and mugs become the cup of choice?!?!  I can still see my mother, aunts and grandmother sipping coffee out of cups very similar to the ones on my card!  Love that retro look!

Jen Timko's great sketch has so many possibilities this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Have fun with it!

It is time for the Spring Coffee Lovers' Blog Hop!  Always so many wonderful cards there for inspiration!

Fusion: Easter Eggs

My favorite part of our Fusion challenge is the fact that there are so many options - the photo, the sketch, colors, elements in the photo and on it goes.  I always try to do the sketch and photo and add some elements from the picture. Today's card does just that. The lines are from the tea towel, the black is from the outline of the container, and then the scripty sentiment like the one on the tin.  I was going to put pale eggs in a bucket but then I heard the Easter Bunny whisper in my ear...."It is the season to decorate eggs!  Don't miss it!"  So out came the decorated eggs and the bunny to make up the oval element of the sketch!

So have fun with our challenge - the possibilities are endless!  Join us at Fusion!

Sending A Squeeze! FMS476

I take no credit for that gorgeous background paper - that is a piece from Stampin' Up's Sand and Sea DSP!  My contribution is the yellow inkiness on the white circle!  It is another technique from the class I took.  It involves smearing ink on a piece of acetate and then spritzing with water.  Then I bounced the white paper up and down on the spritzed acetate to pick up color.  After it dried I stamped the image over those wonderful splotches of color and die cut the circle!  Simple and fun....my kind of project!

I am hosting this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Hope you have fun with my sketch - I will be by to see your wonderful creations!

Fusion: Green

It's March!  Time to start thinking green - even though March came roaring in here with wild winds, sub-zero temps, ice and snow!  Luckily our power stayed on but my daughter lost hers early on in the storm when a huge tree fell a few blocks away.  So after a long chilly night she called in the cavalry (aka The Big Guy) who arrived with a generator to get the heat going.

Certainly don't want the pipes or small pups to freeze!

I love this sweet set designed by Anita Jeram - perfect for St. Patrick's Day!

I am ready to start thinking green - hope you are too!  I combined the sketch and the photo this week but I did have to flip the sketch to make it work for my image.  Adjust whatever you need to and join us at Fusion!

Handmade Hugs.....FMS475

It is unbelievable that we haven't been able to have stamping get togethers in a whole year!  Since I am now fully retired I admit I have been trying all sorts of things to keep busy - and healthy - this winter.  I have taken a few on line stamping classes and am signed up for two more!  It is not as much fun as being there in person but it is fun to learn new techniques.  I recently finished a day long class on Distress Inks with Jenn Shurkus.  We did not make any cards - just focused on using inks in different ways and creating backgrounds.  This background was created with Distress Inks spritzed with water,  The birdhouses were cut from a panel created with Distress Oxide Inks spritzed with water.

I love the Stampin' Up! Coming Home Bundles that was released for the holidays and certainly did not want to put it away until next year.  I decided those sweet little diecut houses could easily be turned into birdhouses - so that is what I did!

Have fun with Jacquie's sweet sketch at Freshly Made Sketches!  Join us!
