Life is Sweet - FMS588

We had a great Memorial Day Weekend with perfect weather every day - almost unheard of around here!  Will came to visit for a day and got to see Emma and Junior (her horse) in action!

We had a picnic at the lake and I actually got in some reading at the beach!  I am tucked under the trees in this picture not too far from the red umbrella!  My son was using his drone to take pictures.

And finally Monday was the hometown parade - Emma is decked out for the event.

I think I may know where my inspiration for the card came from.......

Lemonade Season....FMS587

Ahhh summertime!  It is the only time of year I drink lemonade. Nothing better on a hot day!  Our temps are going up and I think we had our last frost so the flowers will go out on the porch tomorrow. And soon it will be warm enough for lemonade!

I kept my design simple so that embossed background could show off!

Have fun playing with Jen Timko's great sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches!

Time to Celebrate! FMS586

I am celebrating that my second cataract surgery is over and I am recovering!  So many eye drops!  I am still in recovery mode but my vision is much brighter which is the good news.  My up close vision is great but I will need glasses for distance - which is the opposite of what most people have after cataract surgery.  Now I wait for a month until everything has settled in - healed - or whatever is happening in my eyes and then I can get fitted for glasses again.  In the meantime I am wearing very old glasses for distance and none for close work.  I am glad I kept several old pairs over the years.  I have them all over the house now.  It's a little nutsy and I often end up with a headache but it is workable. So I decided a celebration card was in order using SU's new Beautiful Balloons set!

Hooray! FMS584

Even though my first cataract surgery was successful, functioning these past two weeks with eyes totally out of balance has been a challenge! I alternate between no glasses or an old pair of glasses or my most recent glasses with one lens popped out depending on what I am doing! Craziness! So when my daughter asked for her annual supply of 40 graduation cards I decided they had to be super simple!  One stamped sentiment, a graduation die cut and some DSP did the trick.  I will have the second surgery next week so I will be MIA again for a week or two.  But I am not complaining one bit!  It will be wonderful to see clearly again!

Hope you have fun with my sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  I love to see all of your creativity at work!
