Freshly Made!

One year ago I was buying fruits and vegetables from a roadside stand when my cell phone rang.  It was Lesley calling to ask me to join the Freshly Made Sketches design team. So I thought it only fitting to use this image from Countryside in my card this week in honor of our one year anniversary! I have had the privilege of working with amazing and creative designers this past year. I have also been inspired by the many wonderful designs you have all made using Freshly Made Sketches!  Thank you to everyone who has made this such a successful and exciting year!  As soon as that granddaughter of mine arrives and gets settled in I will be back full time on the team and looking forward to another year of fun and inspiration!

Hope you join in our celebration this week.  Pick any of our past sketches and play along.  I turned Lesley's Sketch #50 sideways to create today's card.

Not So Frightening......PPA142

Frightening Feline is way too cheerful to be considered frightening! And combined with this week's colors at Pals Paper Arts she is downright delightful on this Halloween card!

Saddle Up! FabFri01

Ahhh it's September!  Summer vacation is over - time to saddle up and get back into the stamping and blogging mode!  Thought I would ease back into it with this anniversary card made using the sketch from a new challenge site called Fab Friday.  A bit of masking and voila - a pair of horses using the image from Horse Frontier.

That new little granddaughter of mine has decided to make a fashionably late entrance so we still await!  In the meantime we welcomed these two little furbabies to the family.  My son and his girlfriend adopted Silas (a dachshund/poodle mix) and Adi (toy poodle) this week - they are as sweet as can be!

Still Learning! PPA141

It's Back to School time around here!   My school days are over but I am still learning!  My daughter just finished taking baby classes and now we await that little one!  In the meantime she is sharing her new found knowledge with me so I am prepared for babysitting.  Cribs are different nowadays - the sides no longer go up and down.  (Crib in the attic taken to the dump.)  No more playpens - there are pack 'n plays to use.  (Another trip to the dump.) Bumpers are dangerous in a crib.  (Off to Buy Buy Baby to return the bumpers.)  No baby powder on the bottom during diaper changes.  (So my husband and I will be smelling like newborns for the next few months using up that stash of baby powder!)  But I am drawing the line in the sand on those straight jacket swaddlers - there will be none of those at Grandma's house!  (I'll let you know later how that goes.)

Join the fun at PPA with Margaret's sketch this week!
