I survived my first day of Emma sitting - and even managed to make a card as well! Emma was very happy sitting in her bouncy seat in my craft room as long as I kept singing Christmas carols. You can never be too young to learn the words to "I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas!"
This card came together fast thanks to a tip from fellow DT member Rita who said just sponge that Natural Composition paper in any color for a great effect - and she was right!
Jen has a great sketch for us today at

What a fabulous and fun card Linda! Love the sponged natural composition dsp.. great tip! Glad you were able to entertain little Emma enough to get some stamping done, LOL... kids can be a challenge!
I love everything about this! My Natural Composition paper hasn't even been opened but had I known it could do this, I'd be through the pack!
Linda what a great tip! I have the naturals composition paper but I never would of thought to do that. It looks FAB-U-Lous!
Love the sparkling bulbs too.
Now about that little angel... how precious she looks peeking out from the big stuffed lamb? Too cute.
Hugs
PS: I'm leaving to see my 3 next Tuesday.... yippee!
How did I know know about sponging this paper??!! WOW!!! This is absolutely gorgeous, Linda. Have I mentioned how nice it is to have you back?? As for the song....it is, frankly, just hilarious. Nice to know that Emma is being so good. Is it possible that she gets cuter with every picture?
What a great idea to sponge the Naturals with color! Thx! ...can't wait to try it!
Absolutely stunning, Linda! You have my address, right? lol And who wouldn't want a hippopotamus for Christmas??? I have to hear this Christmas song for sure! Emma is looking as adorable as ever!
I was wondering where that gorgeous paper came from! I think I may have to give this one a try. I've got a viola playing sister who would appreciate it!
And it's never too early to immerse Emma in crafting and Christmas carols! I'm sure she'll always associate the two with you!
Fabulous take on the sketch, Linda! Love the musical score, the sparkly ornaments and your ruffled seam binding. And looky at all that hair she has!! What a cutie :)
Your card is stunning. I had heard about sponging the DSP but had not tried it yet. Definitely will now!
And Emma is so PRECIOUS! Give those checks a squeeze and kiss for me.
As for the Christmas carol, that is one of those songs once you hear it, you sing it for days... UGGGHHH!
That song is kinda like "Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer", the stuck in your head kinda! Love your gorgeous card. I had thought look at all the beautiful embossing before I read your post! haha Emma is precious and I can't believe she's 2 mos already!!

Wow, that sponged dsp is amazing! It sets off your "Noel" perfectly. I love all the extra sparkle here, too. A gorgeous card to celebrate the holidays (and singing grandmas!).
This is absolutely beautiful! When are you doing a video on the sponging??!!! You can always point the camera at at cutie patootie! I don't think Ann S really wants you to mail the card to her....I think she meant that it should come up here to Canada!!!!

OMG, baby is cuter than card, sorry grandma!! But I do love the card, too! So festive!
Beautiful! Love the resist - it really makes the card pop with your sponging. I may have to order this now... LOL
Oooh, thanks for that sponging tip - that paper is just gorgeous and highlights your sparkles and delicious ribbons so beautifully!
Wow ... what a little stunner Emma is... Thanks for sharing!
Oh my gosh, this card is so gorgeous. I missed it when Rita said that, so I had NO idea how you did it! Great tip! I love the trim and the glittery balls, too. Absolutely stunning!
Lovely from the ribbon to the music to the colors!!!
Yay for sponged paper. :) It really makes that DSP SO versatile! I just love what you did. I'm glad Emma is letting you stamp some. Laila is pretty good right now, but she's getting close to rolling and I'm not sure we'll get to stamp once that happens!
