The Pals are hopping this month in celebration of Earth Day. If you arrived here from Deb Simonis' blog you are right on track! Our cards this month celebrate the Earth and may contain a bit of recycling!
When my husband walked in with a bag of bolts from the hardware store this week I confiscated that brown paper bag! I embossed a piece of the bag with the woodgrain folder and the resulting texture is wonderful. I kept the card simple in the spirit of Earth Day - some flowers, greenery and a meaningful sentiment from the Grow Set given out at Convention 2011.
I miss brown paper bags! Filling a brown paper bag properly with groceries is a lost art! My pantry used to be full of brown bags. Now there are just a few of them tucked in a basket full of crinkled plastic. And those plastic grocery bags never go away. You can't write a note on a plastic bag or cover a textbook or make a scary mask or start a campfire with one. So celebrate Earth Day - ask for brown paper bags now and then!
Your next stop is at Deb Crowley's - I know she has a wonderful earthy creation for you!
The Paper Players are also holding a Recycle Challenge this week - Challenge 140.

Absolutely beautiful!! I love those flowers! Your brown bag wood embossed background is creative and perfect for Earth Day!
Simply gorgeous, what a great idea for the background, the EF makes it look like real wood. I finally bought the Bohoo Blossoms and I have a bunch of paper grocery bags so I'm CASEing this one for sure. Thank you so much Linda, for sharing this really fantastic idea and card.
Such a beautiful card, Linda! Love the use of the paper bag!
Linda I LOVE brown paper bags woodgrain background. Like a sturdy tree standing tall behind the white fence and flowers. Very pretty. I use the brown packing SU paper all the time. hugs
PS:I remember hating them when I was a kids if they split (because I overloaded it of course) but now I hate the plastic ones. NO "texture" feel good to them at all. My mom used them for everything! even wrapping paper. ..she was ahead of her time in "chic". Hugs
Cute idea with embossing the bag! I would have never guessed. I love that fence too, the flowers make me want to hop on over and see what's on the other side! I miss those brown bags too. They also stood up nicely in the back of the car when full of groceries!
This reminds me of a lovely cottage garden beneath a tree canopy behind white picket fences. I especially loved that sentiment also!
Beautifully done, Linda!
Well said, Linda. And a beautiful card with an inspiring sentiment. I love your work!
How pretty, Linda! I love the brown paper bag with the pretty flowers. It really makes the flowers stand out. And those flowers are beautiful -- I hadn't seen them before.
Love the bright flowers against the paper bag. Great way to "Brown Bag It"..:) TFS
I love it...thanks for hopping!
I love your cards, Linda! They always have just the right touch. And I agree with you about plastic bags. (I give them to our food pantry!) TFS
Beautiful card-i love the clean look of your pretty flowers against the woodgrain background-really effective.
Best wishes,Nessa :)
You are so right about brown paper bags! And, I love your beautifully created fence!
So beautiful! Love all the elements on your card and great re-use of that paper bag!
Love the flowers against the wood grain texture!
I miss brown paper bags too! And they're obviously for more than just filling with my newspapers. It makes a wonderful textured background to your beautiful floral card!
Love the flowers Linda!!! Woman after my own heart!!! Such a pretty card!!! Great job!!! Amy
YAY--you joined our challenge! So glad to see you pop up in the gallery with this woodgrain beauty. Of course, I love the texture but I adore the fence covered in trailing vines and flowers--delightful!

Linda, gorgeous card - I had forgotten about that set! Ah.. brown paper bags.... oh... I love them. The only thing I don't miss is trying to get one home, laden with goodies, on a wet England day. Oh... isn't that every day? :-)
