Just a fun way to say hello this Valentine's Day! When I was young our telephone was similar to this one - big, clunky and black. It sat on a lace doily on its own little table. Those were the days when we read Dick Tracy every Sunday in the comic section of the newspaper. He kept in touch with the other "good guys" by talking into his wristwatch......and we laughed at such craziness.....little did we know......
I definitely drew inspiration from our living room from so long ago....the clunky phone, stenciled hearts like patterned wallpaper, a touch of lace and a retro look designer paper.
It's my turn to host at Freshly Made Sketches this week. The sketch is wide open - use whatever works for you in the oval area! Hope you join us - especially because it is cold this week in the Northeast so I'd love to sip some tea and visit your galleries!

PE9-2378! I can't seem to forget that first phone number - or that phone, Linda! Helloooo cute Valentine!

Such a fun card! Love that phone image...and yep, my parents had a few phones that looked like this one too! :)
So cute, Linda! We had a black phone like that too. I would stretch the cord under my bedroom door to talk to my boyfriend!
What is that thing you've featured on your card, Linda!? Doesn't look like any phone I've ever seen in my young life. :) Love it! So retro, so fun!
In these days of messaging and emails, it really is an act of love to take the time to call. Love this card with its beautiful details - and we have one of these vintage phones on our hall table! Vicky x

I love everything about this card! We had a phone just like this too and it probably sat on a doily as well! I think life was so much better when we had to pick up the phone to talk to someone rather than into our watches! The retro feel of this card is just perfect! Thanks for a great sketch this week!
Talking into a wristwatch - as if - she says as she talks to her daughter via her Apple Watch :) :) Such a fabulous card and a great sketch!
