Fusion - Easter

Happy mail arrived this week - a brand new set of Tim Holtz' Distress Oxide Inks and I have just started to play with them. I used the inspiration photo to choose the colors to sponge on white paper (Bristol Smooth) and then spritzed with water. I didn't mess with it too much because I loved how vibrant the colors were.  I stamped the flowers from Number Of Years in Daffodil Delight, Mint Macaron, Sweet Sugarplum and Flirty Flamingo and added a sentiment from Avant-Garden.

I am hoping our snow is gone by Easter because I am so ready for spring weather! But if spring is delayed we may just have a few getaway days planned in Cocoa Beach!

Karren has some great inspiration for us again this week at Fusion!  Hope you play along!

A Spot of Tea......FMS281

There is someting fun and vintage-y about the colors and designs on my card today. When I was growing up our kitchen set was black and white with a touch of red - metal of course.  Our kitchen shelves all had scalloped paper edging. And coffee and tea were always served in cups with saucers. Oh I can still hear the coffee perking in the percolator!  Guess that all means I am rather vintage-y myself!

Miss Emma had a wonderful time at an antique and salvage shop last week.  Her favorite item was this phone - she was fascinated!  Yep there was one of those in our house way back when as well......on an end table in the living room - on a doily of course!

Even though we still have snow on the ground thanks to that last minute winter blizzard I am delighted that it is officially spring.  More daylight.....a tiny bit warmer.....and time for the Spring Coffee Lovers Bloghop.....always a fun event and full of fabulous cards!

I used Kim's very cool sketch at Freshly Made Sketches to make my tea card and will be linking to the blog hop as well. Hope you join in the fun!

A Blog Hop for Lesley.....and her Baby Girl!

Lesley Croghan is a creative force to be reckoned with!  Not only does she make fabulous cards she has been a member of several design teams and has created many popular card challenges.  So if you are wondering why you haven't see her around blogdom recently now you know why. Baby Girl Croghan is due soon!  So today many of her cardmaking friends are having a blog hop to celebrate such a joyous occasion!  Our cards are all linked in a gallery on Lori Turner's blog.  Click on Lori's name for lots of baby card inspiration!

For my card I embossed a sentiment from Layering Love and inked up a panel with distress inks in shades of pink then die cut the panels.  I added that sweet pup from Little Cuties because Lesley is also a dog lover.  So congratulations to Lesley and Corey.....can't wait to meet Little Miss Croghan!

Amazing! FMS280

I am excited to be hosting this week at Freshly Made Sketches.  When it is my turn to host I make an effort to visit all of your sites to see what you all have created with my sketch.  And the sentiment on my card today sums up perfectly what I think  -  you are all amazing!  Creativity abounds in our galleries for sure!

Something else I find amazing is how Emma and Gram are such pals!  When we visit they love to look at family pictures together.  Gram's memory is fading and she needs help sometimes remembering people in the photos so Emma helps her out.  Total sweetness.....

I used the sets Cups and Succulents (SSS) and You (SSS) for my plant and sentiment.  There is a hint of Tumbled Glass Distress Ink brushed on in the background and Copic markers were used for coloring. The cardstock is Neenah Solar White and SU! Wild Wasabi.

Fusion - Paris Rain

Well my days are getting brighter!  The sun came out yesterday but due to fact that the big guy is still up in the mountains I was totally snowed in.

Gee whiz that meant a whole 'nother day in my craft room eating emergency rations!

But the big guy is very resourceful. Even while riding a chairlift 200 miles away he managed to contact a snowplow guy to come plow me out.  The dogs are very happy now to walk down the block again instead of stepping off the porch into the one tiny citcle I kept shoveling every two hours.   So we survived the Blizzard of 2017......brighter days ahead!

I love that Fusion offers both a sketch and a photo for inspiration! I used both on my card today.  I used an image from Beautiful You and added the skyline from Calling All Heroes.

Send Love - Not Snow.....FMS279

The big guy is on his annual birthday ski trip with our son so I am holding down the fort during a wild March blizzard. There's two feet of fresh snow in our yard with more on the way tomorrow. I decided to create a bit of springtime in my craft room and did some watercoloring with my Zig markers in pink and green.  This was my view at noon on Tuesday - I could hardly see my neighbor's house!  But I am sure there are roses somewhere under that snow right?

And cards aren't the only place you could use pink sequins......they worked real well on the t-shirts we wore to an amazing Garth Brooks concert last weekend!

I love my friend Rita's sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  She loves layers and banners and put some in her sketch - fun!  Hope you join us!

Oh Doodles.......FMS278

When you hang around with a toddler as much as I do these days it is inevitable that you watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse more than you care to admit.  If you have seen that show you have heard "oh Toooodles" and know exactly how I say the title of this post in my head!

My talented FMS teammate Karren Johnson is the guest designer this week at Addicted to CAS where the key word is DOODLE. So I decided to doodle my way across the FMS sketch this week!

Meanwhile the awesome Jen Mitchell has a terrific sketch for us at Freshly Made Sketches!  Hope you play along!

The Paper Players has a Cut It Out challenge this week.  I used one of my favorite punches (spiral) to create the note paper along with the corner rounder punch.

Fusion: Scrambled Letters

I love those ship shape letters in the inspiration photo at Fusion this week! So I went with a letter theme and made a shaded panel of letters by using an alphabet diecut, some masking paper and Faded Jeans Distress Ink. How can you not love an ink called Faded Jeans?  We all have that pair that we would never part with!

Be inspired by the picture.....or the sketch...or both at Fusion!

Starry Night......FMS277

Well it's not a Van Gogh but it's definitely a starry night with this sweet moon baby!  I thought it  fitting to do a baby card as I take a few more baby steps with Copic markers. I only have a handful of them and thankfully one was yellow!

My talented friend Jen Timko has a super clean sketch for us this week at Freshly Made Sketches - have fun with it!
